I Got The Note 8!!!

My wife and I just picked up our Note 8's today from AT&T (Bogo promo).

At first they said they had to order them but then they found 2 new ones in both colors black and orchid gray!

We both had the S5 and these are our first Notes and so far we love it! I don't think we'll be going back! =)

I think I'm gonna have a big learning curve, not with Samsung's Touchwiz but the Note's features which seem never-ending... just awesome.

A few things I need to consider are...

1. SquareTrade for insurance (unless someone has other suggestions?).

2. Check this site re: a blue case that protects it but isn't the big, bulky kind that hides this beautiful phone

3. Skip putting a screen protector on. Not sure if I need one but I dunno?

Any suggestions?

I chose a bulky case because it seems to me that the curved screen phones are more fragile.

I went with a screen protector even on my note 5 just in case I ever did something unknowingly to damage the s-pen then used it on the screen, so I'm also using one on my note 8.
Everyone will have an opinion on whether or not it is needed and also which is best.

Best is a very subjective term. The one I have cost less than $20. It doesn't interfere with the s-pen, doesn't change screen responsiveness, and after 2 weeks it's still in place with no sign of lifting.

What brand is it? My Gpel one works fine with Legion case I have and doesn't lift but it is a bit harder to get screen to respond in the bottom corners

Congrats to you & your wife, welcome to the Note forums!! For screen protectors the Whitestone Dome glass protector seem to be the 1st choice of most in the forum. Since your new though, FYI- The Whitestone Dome (glass) protector does NOT work with ALL cases. Utube has some good informative videos on the protector & the cases that do/don't work with it, as well as, how to do a proper Install. (Amazon sells the item, its not cheap but seems to be the favorite for several reasons.)
For Ins coverage, I have it throughVerizon for now, just to have some coverage on the phone, but Im looking to see about other Ins plans. If anyone has a good protection plan they're happy with, please post the name/cost. Cases are really a very personal thing, people's taste & need for Protection varies greatly but you'll have lots of choices whatever your preference.

I don't think they have the BOGO going anymore. They have a BOGO for Buy 1 phone get 1 free so it could work for that but that requires the AT&T unlimited plan + DirecTV service.
