I hate this phone rate 0

Not having the 1st issue pairing it with my Kia Optima either.
My S8+ has to be the best phone I've ever had.
Just changed back after years to Verizon too.

Love hos Samsung keeps making the phones better and better.

Well, this is a little awkward; based on the OPs initial post. I've spent two weeks plus reviewing videos and such of the S8 Plus. And ONLY yesterday, 24th May, I finally purchased it...

As stated .. help if you want. If you don't then just move on to many of the other threads. Everyone should know how to act. It's pretty much common sense. I cleaned a few posts so it can get back on track.

For any concerns about the issue just send me a PM. Thanks.

If you've done all that research, I think you know what you're getting into and you'll like it. The FPS location takes a little getting used to but other than that, it's a great device.

After spending $742 on a Priv and couldn't sell it for more than $300, I was burned and didn't want to make the same mistake.

Bluetooth won't connect to car

It's anyone working on connection issue with the Bluetooth ? it won't allow me to connect to my car stereo which is very upsetting like my Galaxy s5

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

Could it be a 5.0 problem? Otherwise make sure the car or phone isn't connecting to something else.

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

Every other day someone opens a thread for this, but haven't seen any resolution to the problem yet

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

If using the stock stereo, it would help to know the make, model and year of the car as well as which stereo version and software currently loaded. If using an aftermarket stereo, the make model and software version.

Every manufacturer tweaks software versions differently, especially imports. Honda seem to be one of the most common for Bluetooth audio issues.

Bluetooth 5 is fully backward compatible so it's unlikely to be the culprit.

Does your phone's Bluetooth connect to other devices such as speakers, headsets, etc?

Alrighty guys, time for me to input my thoughts on both of the discussions going on in this thread.
1) I was disappointed to see an immediate and noticeable bitter backlash against a poster who is clearly new to our forum and is clearly angry about a (rather expensive) purchase he made that didn't work out. Not everyone is as tech savvy and super sexy intelligent as you lot, and not everyone is going to sit down and write out a ten page essay about the pros and cons of every prospective technology purchase. I was pleased to see ours mods and more trusted members step in and help alleviate the situation with helpful, thoughtful responses, as that is what they are here to do. They were chosen by a team of other trusted members to help moderate the forums and prevent this exact situation from occurring. We want people to come back, to learn more, and to eventually become a productive and knowledgeable member of these forums. Belittling someone who may or may not know better or who could quite simply be angry and/or in a rush is only going to further harm the situation. This is not a place for you to judge another based on their thoughts or opinions, but to calmly and intelligently discuss the topic in question and input your own opinion in a helpful manner. Feel free to call me out on anything I said, but I'd appreciate it being in a rational manner.
2) And as far as the true topic of this post goes: I believe it's an issue with your car and not your phone, but it could potentially be a hardware issue with your phone (they happen), a software bug (I've heard of a few affecting Bluetooth performance on the S8 duo), or simple user error. Even I get frustrated with your phone before realizing all my issue were down to me being a gibbon.

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

I connected mine to my 2016 Sonata. No problem. According to my cars manual, the cars multimedia system is only Bluetooth 3.0. if your system is having problems, could it be using an even older Bluetooth spec? I know earlier Sonata's ( like before 2011 or so) won't work with modern Bluetooth phones due to using an obsolete spec. I've heard this second hand however.

The biggest connection issue is Bluetooth LE (low energy). If the car stereo is not Bluetooth LE compatible it won't connect to the S8 since Bluetooth LE is a core component of Bluetooth 5.0.

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

I don't think that's correct. I got to dig out my manual again, but pretty sure my car doesn't support Bluetooth LE. Also I have the AKG Y50BT headphones. Also Bluetooth 3.0, no where in specs does it say it supports low energy. And they work fine as well.

confirmed. It has nothing to do with LE spec. My car does not support low energy profile. And it's only v.3.0. works fine with my S8.

Damn straight. Pretty easy to give a person the benefit of the doubt and offer to be helpful, huh? Because that's what we're supposed to do here.

There were other factors in Bluetooth 3.0 that would allow it to connect to newer editions including low energy. I can't remember off the top of my head how it worked but it was something with br capable devices or something along those lines. It related to Bluetooth classic vs Low energy. If the phone is capable of br then it was compatible with all Bluetooth versions, I also remember reading that 3.0 HS was also compatible with Low Energy devices. It's been a long time since I dealt with all of this but there were a few scenarios that would make it work or prevent it all together.

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

If all else fails I know some carrier stores will pair it for you, I used to work at a Verizon indirect and did a lot of troubleshooting and connecting of Bluetooth in cars. I don't personally have the S8 and without exact knowledge of your car stereo it's hard for me to offer advice in a forum.

Now that you've got me thinking about this I think I'm wrong in my original comment about low energy. Phones, especially the S8, should be Bluetooth smart ready devices so should connect to all forms of Bluetooth, classic and low energy.

I wonder if the OP's car is only capable of storing 1 device and if so he needs to remove the S5 first. If he's done that already then we definitely need more info on the car unit.

Re: Bluetooth won't connect to car

No problem here with my 2011 Infiniti or my wife's 2016 Toyota.

So it does connect to an older system and a newer one as well.
