I hate this phone rate 0

I have a 2012 hyndia sonata, it's hard to believe no one tested backward comparability, I have 2 remote speakers that won't pair also.... is there any list of Bluetooth devices this MAKES USELESS

There has to be something else going on if you can't get it to connect to any Bluetooth device. I can see may be a car having a compatibility issue but to have nothing that connects to it is strange.

No Bluetooth issues myself here. Connects to everything I've tried so far, at least half a dozen devices, cars, watches, etc.

I would suggest a factory reset.

Try a factory reset on your stereo that is probably your best bet I had that issue with an older phone of mine it resolved the issue. With my S8 plus i have no issue connecting to my car hyundia santa fe 2014 in fact even better than my note 4 i noticed that my I can actually hear my ringtone on my car speaker when someone calls with my note 4 and s4 it never did that.

One of the easiest and best ways to move apps, text messages, etc. from your old phone to the new one is via Samsung Switch.

My old phone used Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) so it wasn't compatible, so there was really no easy way to transfer any apps. Luckily I only had one paid app and it was $5 to get the new version.

What kind of car do you have

This is a new device (bleeding edge) there will be some issues. we go thru this with many new devices. I am sure there will be some fixes and potential workarounds.
Also you really would not want to have everything port over from an older device, there would likely be artifacts that may not play well on the newest version of a phone. I have seen performance issues caused by things ported from another device. Better to start clean.

Cheers,
BR

Come on guys, be nice :-).

To the OP.... Check to see if there is an update available for your car system. Also, delete all other Bluetooth connections, restart, then go to apps in settings and clear data and cache in the Bluetooth app.

This might help.

Welcome.

What vehicle do you have? There may be an update from the dealer to fix the connection.

Also, apps never transfer to a new device. They have to be re-downloaded each time. Annoying, but true.

Mav.

I used smartswitch coming from pixel and about 90% of apps transferred.

Bluetooth APOLOGY

I posted the Bluetooth issue and just discovered, it was USER ERROR.. I was under a false impression that if my car did not show under discovery it would not allow me to connect. On my phone the car did not show but I did a pair in car and sure enough it did passcode prompt and now works fine....

SORRY TO ALL THOSE I UPSET AND SINCERELY APOLOGIZE

Glad you got it working :).

Sorry, noticed you fixed this but I will leave this reply, edited for others that might have an issue

Bluetooth 5.0 is backwards compatible all the way back to version 1.2...what this means is, if your bluetooth worked with the S5, it will work with the S8

Did you go back in to Bluetooth settings, remove the old phone and then pair the new device? What year is your car?

Welcome to the forums, I'm sorry you are disappointed with your new device.
From the S7 up, they are increasingly complicated devices, they far surpass the earlier models in performance and complexity.
You have jumped from a VW to a Ferrari, it's a huge learning curve for you, coming from the S5! I never recommend newcomers to Android to buy these phones for this reason.
I would get someone to help you with the set up and go through the device with you. These are the best phones in the market today, be patient...
