I hate to say it but...

I'll be returning my epic if they don't fix the upload speed cap. Love everything else about the phone though.

Hmm well try out all the phones for yourself.. One phone doesnt work for everyone... I tried the epic and ehhhh its a nice phone but I couldnt deal with gps problems, capacitive button issue on the one I tried.. Plus i missed my Sense widgets alot.. The phone does have a great processor and GPU but I didnt feel like it was worth the jump because I dont play games and my evo feels the same in comparison to everyday tasks I use... Try the Iphone 4, and evo.... None will be perfect but maybe one fits your needs better then the epic...

Yeah, like every version of the Galaxy S having GPS issues (and don't tell me that the Epic's works. I've seen FIRST HAND the epic place me about 100 feet away from my actual location). Not to mention, every version having unresponsive / non-working capacitive buttons. Oh, and I almost forgot about it having trouble connecting to 64-bit operating systems.

I have seen TONS of posts on various forums of Epic owners complaining of GPS issues, and unresponsive capacitive buttons.

And I personally experienced an unresponsive back button on both Epic's that were on display at the Sprint store, as well as GPS issues with my roommate's epic.

While this may be true on the internet, that is to be expected. When a new product hits the market there are bound to be people out to bad mouth it due to being a fan of something else. There are also many out there that like to jump on a bandwagon just because. It is one of the many sad facts about the internet and especially forums. While there are legitimate users and posts, most of the complaining is coming from those with very few posts or who tout the evo or iphone as the end all be all phone. To say the least most of the complaints sound and look fishy and almost as if they are either fake, or these people bough an epic with the tought in the back of their mind they were going to drop it and go back to another phone.

All in all there are ALOT of us that have zero GPS issues, capacitive button issues (although I still prefer hard buttons), and I have zero issues connecting to my windows 7 ultimate 64bit workstations. Im not trying to refute peoples issues as again there are plenty of legit people having issues, but saying all GS phones will have these certain issues guaranteed is wrong and incorrect. They are in the minority (as far as the epic is concerned as I cannot comment on the other GS phones). Now I know I cannot combat all the rumors that will be spread in the wild west...errr...I mean internet, but I can at least attempt to set things straight here.

I must have a golden Epic. No GPS issues, Fast 3G, No wobble, great battery life, responsive capacitive buttons... oh, and I can spell correctly.

My Epic could be yours for the once in a lifetime price of:XXX
:P

Same here! I know there are golden Epics out there :)

Mine is one of those golden epics too. The only issues mine has are battery life (again to be expected) and the upload speed (synthetic benchmarked speed). The upload issue may be present in a synthetic benchmark, but I notice ZERO issues or difference from any other smartphone with an evdo rev a radio. I can have my wife's moment sitting next to mine and do the same surfing, same goes for my brothers old pre and so on. I can also get qik to work perfectly fine even with less then 3 bars of signal. DOnt get me wrong there may actually be an issue and I would LOVE to see what sprint has to say about this network issue (its a sprint issue as no other GS uses have been complaining about the cap).

As for the battery well I cannot say much more then people need to realize what they are using. It just feels like as if a bunch of people bought 17in quad core workstation laptops with 6 cell batteries and are crying about not getting the same battery life as a ULEV 10in netbook. But again there are legitimate complaints about this and the july batteries given less then expected.

Honestly its just a matter of weeding through all the BS and exaggerations to get to the legitimate complaints and issues. They are out there, but they are masked by all the crap that floods the internet.
