I have a Galaxy Mega 2, why did the screen go black after showing a video?

[AC Question]

I have a Galaxy Mega 2; the screen went black after showing a video.

I was just showing a video and after it stopped my screen went black (only shows the time and battery percentage at the very top with about a half-inch X 1/8 inch white line on the left middle of the phone) and now I can't do anything with my phone. I can't turn it off or do anything with it. How do I fix it?

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

Sounds like your screen is OK.

Take the battery out, wait a bit, put it back in and either restart it, or even better wipe the cache partition in Recovery mode when off.

After that try clearing the You Tube or Video app in Settings - Applications Manager - All, though I think the recovery mode wipe has that covered, not sure.

Recovery Mode : Volume UP + Power + Home button together (when off)
Recovery screen : scroll down to wipe cache partition and select by pressing the Power button. Reboot will then highlight and select with Power again.

Let us know if that doesn't help.

Best if you can quickly register a Username and Password so you can post in the same thread.

I have a Note 3. There is usually a slot on one side you can get a hook on to with a finger. You can't do too much damage, and they clip back on robustly.

If it doesn't move I can check with the Mega forum.
