Nexus 4 microphone not working after Android 4.3 update..
The mic works fine on speaker phone mode during a call.. But doesn't work otherwise..
Please help me fix this problem..
Tried searching everywhere..
But the 'Soundabout' app work around didn't work for me..

How come when I download a ring tone and move it to the Notifications folder my phone would still play an organic notification tune? And the funny thing is, even when I pick another organic tune (Procyon) it would still play the Talitha tune which I'd picked when I first got the phone. It seems like I'm having problems with the System default notification sound. I don't have such problem with the Phone ringtone.

I've been trying to solve this problem by referring to several solutions offered online but all of them didn't work for my phone.

Please help. It's making me quite frustrated.

Hi All,

First question on this forum. Can look stupid..so please bare...
as all of you must be aware that recent OTA update for 4.3 have created a mess for lots of Nexus 4 users, unfortunately i am one of them.
I have tried Hard Reset (in recover mode) etc but my phone is not going beyond the 'X' sign.

Now i dont have any option to flash a new factory image on my phone.I have tried this by visiting LG service center in India and they said that it is not accepting the image available with them.
So i am trying to follow the process given in

I have 1 doubt, in my phone USB debugging was not 'ON', i never touched that thing. So is it necessary to have it ON before i can proceed with these steps? If Yes, then how can i change it NOW??
Any workaround, any trick..will save my life here..thanks in advance...

Yes. Usb debugging is required. You activate this by going to Settings/About Phone. then scroll all the way down to build number. You tap it a few times and it will activate debugging mode.

But considering you can't get past the X. You can't do that. My suggestion is to go into the Nexus 4 rooting section and post a message to Def2mouze. He is super smart with fixing things and will be able to tell you what is possible.

I wanted to update my nexus 4 to 4.3 as soon as google released it officially. I didnt get the OTA and my other frnds got it. I googled my doubt and force stopped the Google Services Framework and checked for the update. Woah! The update was available. Since then i m having many issues;

My google account issues. I had to remove and re-add my account.

My gmail and other apps dont gimme notifications. Wheras i just added another gmail id. I recieve notifcations from the new one.

All settings are proper in setting and gmail settings but still the problem prevails.

PLEASE HELP

Hi,
I am using a Nexus 4. When I download (Save as...) an MP3 file it sais "Download started" but there is no indication for it in the uppest row as it used to be a few months back. During the download I can find the file (with that special file format) in the downloads folder but after it finishes, it just disappears. Neither my Google play music app nor a search function cant trace it. What is happening? What changed in the last 2 months or so?

Yes, you can set this up using light flow or light manager.

Have you shut the phone down, taken the Sim out and reseat it inside the phone then turn the phone back on to reestablish a connection?

I've read by others, many others that Netflix and 4.3 don't work together. I'm assuming you've updated to 4.3? When using Netflix with the update, it causes the device to power off or crash and you need to hold the power button for several seconds until you feel it vibrate and it should power back up. From what I've read, Netflix is working on a fix. It sounds like that's what's happened?

I see that I can download franco's kernel updater from the google apps store, so do I just run it from there and it should be fine?

You do need to be rooted to take advantage of Franco.

app installation issue

I can't install apps while I'm using my data, and even when I'm at my house using my WiFi it won't install apps. What happens is that the app says its downloading for a long time then an error message comes up saying it couldn't install properly . when I use my friends wifi it works. It used to work on my WiFi but it just stopped working, do you know why?

Sounds like you have a bad connection. Next time a friend is over ask them to tether data from their phone and see if you have the same result.

You may also need to change the settings on your router. Some phones like different settings more.
