I have a Nexus 4, you have questions. Fire away.

Possibly a weird, not completely Nexus 4 specific question but I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to this phone. Problem is, I'm that weirdo that always has to have phone insurance. I usually get it through my carrier (at&t) and recently gave that up in favor of Best Buy's offering. I know it's probably a rip off, but paying like $7 a month so that one drop doesn't cost me $600 just makes me more comfortable. That said, I won't really be able to do this with the nexus 4 as it will not/cannot be purchased through a carrier or best buy. If anyone else shares my concern for phone security, any advice here insurance wise?

Uhm... T mobile has it..?

Or there's that 3rd party insurance you can buy. Can't remember the name, square trade? Or something like that

Thanks, I tried the T-mo route. They told me I couldn't use their insurance without being on a contract with them. Also, the one sales rep said they couldn't even sell the unsubsidized phone to me if I wasn't a customer...which seemed odd.

I did look into Square Trade, thanks for the recommendation, seems legit.

Yeah, I've heard of many people using it even for phones bought from Craigslist or ebay.

I thought I saw somewhere that you can do split screen on the nexus 4. or did I misread it? If you can split screen can you tell me how on the nexus 4
Thank you

When I do alot of texting a screen pops up stating if I want to allow or deny a large amount messaging, any idea how to turn it off?

what's the best way to begin the charging cycle right when you receive the phone? full charge right away, or use it for a little bit first? I haven't had a new phone in a couple years and can't remember.
what level of charge do the batteries usually have out of the box?

Most phones appear to have 50-90% out of the box. It doesn't matter if you charge it when you get it, but you shouldn't let it drain right down to zero. Lithium Ion batteries don't have any memory so they don't require a full charge right away, but they supposedly perform better when charged within the 10-30% sweet spot. Plus the battery will need a few charges before it will settle in and give you a regular charge cycle.

how is the touchscreen responsivness?
I think iphone have a pretty good screen responsivness. With touchscreen responsivnes i mean, for example, when you pinch to zoom, if its reacts direct, or with a little delay? And if with a delay, are there any possibilietes to increase the responsivness speed?

I honestly hate to say it but I think iOS and even windows phone 8 have better responsiveness. Project Butter helped but it still needs work. It's like Android is trying to fix things with hardware rather than software.

I have the Nexus 4 and it is so smooth and responsive. I've never had any lag in terms of responsiveness. Even pinching in and out of Google maps and the browser is very smooth. There isn't really any delay. I think its up to par with iOS, which used to be one of my gripes with Android a while back.

I wouldn't count google chrome pinch to zoom since the browser is buggy (beta) right now and sometimes does not offer great pinch to zooming lol.

H is for hspa+ and that's what runs at 42 Mbps. But that's completely normal. When you start using data it switches to hspa+.

Hi can anyone help me with my mobile network connection please?
I'm currently living in Canada and my cellphone provider is Wind Mobile. Every time I go on the skytrain I need to switch off my mobile networks but it's such a hassle and I sometimes forget. Wind sucks at getting signal in the skytrain stations, so I was wondering is there an app or feature to quickly switch my mobile networks on and off so I don't need to search for Wind Home every time I get out of the skytrain stations to find signal?

Thanks so much!

Could you ask in a new thread, in the appropriate forum, please? You will never get much help burying your question in an unrelated topic thread.... ;)

But it's for my Nexus 4 haha, just seeing if there's an app specified for my Nexus 4, sorry if it wasn't in the right forum. Which one should I post in?
