I have a Nexus 4, you have questions. Fire away.

Doesn't work, that was how I done it on my iPhone 4s.when
I hold it,it vibrates after a second but nothing else happens.

Hello all,

Completely new to his forum so here is my question... I have a Nexus 4 and I have found that the swipe to answer feature while very cool is very awkward for some one who is left handed... Is there a way to switch it from swiping left to right to swiping right to left to answer a phone call which is more natural with the left hand?? I usually pick up my phone with my left hand and it just feels unnatural to swipe from left to right to answer the phone.. There have been many times when I actually swiped the other way and hung up the call... Thanks in advance for any help you cna provide me...:)

Sam

yes, it is tethered to my netbook. I went into T-Mobile and they downloaded a file system app so we could at least see my music. With that there was no way to play it. The tech there seemed to think the file extensions were wrong so we deleted all the music from the phone. They suggested I download a music player, I think it was Google play, send all my music on my pc to that and then I can wirelessly downlaod it to my phone. Working on that now, but so far it's all good. The file system app seems like a really good idea, not sure why they do not have one on the phone already, the only way to see you files on the phone.

I have 3G enabled and sometimes it says H sometimes 3G, why is that so?

I have two questions: First, is it possible to get apps to pulse the notification light on their own, without installing a third-party app? WhatsApp does this for new messages but a lot of others don't.

Second, and more importantly, I've assigned contact X a new ringtone. Is there a way to get it to ring *only* when a call from X comes in? Because currently, whether I get a text message or a WhatsApp message or a Skype call from that contact, the same (custom) ringtone blares. I don't want Justin Beiber blaring out for ALL notifications from that contact!

(just kidding, it will be a cold day in hell before I have that music on my phone...)

Set the ringtone under the contacts of the phone. I use a 3rd party app for texting so contact x phone ring will be different from contact x text notification

Only ROM I tried so far that's 4.2.2 is CM10.1 and the .33 radio works fine. You may want to try that radio with stock to see if in-call audio works for you. The call would connect but I couldn't hear anything from the earpiece on stock.

Why he switches between 3g and hspa, is that normal?

When you're not really using data, depending on your area, it will idle at 3G and HSPA+ will kick on once you start using a more data intensive app.

My area idles at HSPA+ 21 and HSPA+ 42 kicks in when I start browsing the internet or something else that uses more data.

Can anyone verify and examine/analyze if my battery is doing OK
This is my 3rd full charge and lasts more than 1 day with 4:30 screen time. Just wanted to know if battery life is normal
Thanks

That is about what I get unless I am playing games. 3-5 hours screen time with around 16+ hours of off battery time.

Hi Phil, I have a NEXUS 4 and live in Spain. Is there any way that I can access the UK Play Store instead of the Spanish one? All the best Paul

No I'm afraid you are restricted to the Spanish Play Store, it's the same for Apple and the Itunes store, AFAIK its all to do with billing addresses matching shipping addresses If you really want to buy in the UK store you'll need to use a UK credit card and a UK address oh! and I think you'll need something like expat shield to hide your location. It's not relevant to your query but once when I was in the UK I tried to use the UK Itunes store and straight away it redirected me to the Spanish one.

Don't mind me asking but if you live in Spain you must have bought your Nexus 4 from the Spanish Play store am I correct?
(BTW I also live in Spain and just got my Nexus 4 yesterday after ordering it Friday!)

PS
I did once have a long conversation with Apple over this sort of issue and they told me it was all to do with intellectual property rightsl

2 questions, what is Background Sync and what Restrict background data means, should I have it checked or unchecked ?

please someone :(

That's stuff like your gmail automatically syncing without you manually doing it. If you restrict it, you probably won't get push notifications whenever something comes through.
