I got the same alert but in LG g5. Want to know is it fake. I was playing a game and watching netflix while watching. So it said to download this applock thing is this true

My son fixed it.
Anytime I opened "internet" the warning "we have detected four viruses on your galaxy 5..." came up and prevented me from using the search bar.
My son went to "settings"
then went to "application manager" ( way down the list)
went to "internet"
clicked the "force stop" option at the top

and that got rid of the damned virus warning. Probably not a virus itself, nor a warning of a real virus, but a pop up.
Whatever it was, it is gone now.

Best guess is I got it from AT&T Mobile Web site, which is Yahoo news-entertainment links, and I surely didn't (intentionally) visit any Adult Sites as implied.

i agree that pornhub is a cleaner pornsite but I've even got this message when visiting pornhub. the reason being is pornhub is a clean pornsite within itself but it is affiliated with a lot of other pornsites some good some bad. what i would like to know from these security programs, carriers like sprint, metro pcs, at&t, etc is; just who is responsible for sending these messages. . when i first received one of those messages (and in the interim you will get different messages from whoever is sending them some say u have 4 viruses some say 10 and i even had one to say i had 28)to me this sound like some convoluted marketing practices because as i said i clicked on 1 and it redirected me to google play to download either a cleaner or a antivirus. and wheater they are viruses or malware or merely popups remains to be seen. because I've had some that if u simply erase or clean your browsing history will stop them but only temp. but then there are some more tenacious than others for they are hard to get rid of and can have dire consequences on your phone and its settings. i think from the reality point of view that most of us even gov like fcc don't want to admit to and that is, as for the internet we have created a monster that have gotten to big to control. and most of this stuff is coming from big company apps that we install that want to know all of this personal stuff about you before they let u download their app. then they hit u with the biggest lie saying "oh we care about your privacy and we will not sell or give your email address or otber personal data to a third party" fuey! as soon as u're off their site and downloaded their app they'll give your information to any and everyone.this my friends is the price we pay for networking. and last i don't see any improvement or ways to control messages like these until the gov and companies like microsoft ,google, etc find and do the seemly impossible and that is to find someway of controlling what can be said or did via the internet. and back to those messages saying u have viruses on your phone which you don't then trying to sell u a bill of goods such as cleabers and antiviruses isn't that the same as false advertising

They are popup ads associated with the website you're visiting, designed to scare you into thinking your phone is infected and then downloading some bogus "antivirus" app that is probably malware itself. If you ever get stuck on one of these popups, do the following:

1. Tap the Recent Apps button.
2. Swipe away the browser window.
3. Now reopen your browser, and avoid the website you were just visiting.
4. If you reopen the browser and it goes directly to that website, then exit out of the browser again, go to Settings>Apps, select the browser, and Clear Cache/Clear Data.

Started getting that bogus popup this afternoon. I've followed your steps including rebooting my phone. I also installed Kaspersky earlier today and several scans confirm phone is obviously clean. Is an A5. Any other suggestions to help me return to using the Samsung browser? If not, I'll have to stop using it. I have always had the popup blocker setting switched to On for the app, so am puzzled why it isn't working today. Any other ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it only happening when you visit certain sites, or does it happen on any site? Is this the stock Samsung "Internet" browser, or is it the version of Chrome that is preinstalled on more recent Samsung devices?

Got this same notification today on my Note 4, simply by accidentally touching a link which was on a legitimate website. I knew better than to follow the instructions in the message and followed some instructions on here in order to get rid of it. I did not need to uninstall chrome; simply went to settings > applications > application manager > chrome > force stop > storage > manage storage > clear all data. I then rebooted my phone (not sure I had to but figured, what the heck). After the reboot, I opened chrome and logged in. Don't forget you'll need to reset any of your settings within chrome as well; for example, I always keep data saver turned on and it was turned off by default after clearing the data. Anyhow, a pretty simple fix for what at first makes your heart jump into your throat!!!

Hi this is so fake. When I'm not even in my browser, it takes me to it and it says " your generic android 2.0 and I have a samsung 5 tablet and it claims its a phone... It's obviously fake

My wife had the same problem. I tried anti virus software. I tried going into settings/apps/chrome and force stop. No Luck. Here is what worked. I tapped the search bar, typed in google, went to google's home page, tapped the three dots in the right hand corner, tapped history, removed all history and it's fixed. You must go directly to google, if the screen is on it will be saved in history regardless of clearing history. You can double check by tapping the three dots again and tapping history. It should say no history, If it does your free.

I've been getting that message for a while now. I can't disprove it's ligitamacy, but have never recieved it off pornhub. And phone still works fine. I just close the tab it opened and carry on. I asume it's bull and never click on anything that pops up like that I just hit the back button or close it completely. some of them when you click on it that's when a virus actually starts infecting your phone.

Drive by downloads. Malware that lives in RAM. A new Win10 strain that uses Microsoft Defender to inject itself.

Ad blockers work in Samsung Internet, which is available on GPS now. Or full Adguard.com app side loaded.

Don't leave the house without Malwarebytes or turning off the lights (Javascript).

I have had the exact same message (28.1% damaged after visitng 'adult sites') on my samsung galaxy core prime. It's a scam, the virus (if there is one) is the alert itself. Don't tap the fix it button unless you wankt to wreck your phone.

What if I did if in did click on the fix it button

I'm having the same problem.

Force stopped, cleared data, Restart.

Ran malwarebytes scan comes back clean.

Tried clearing history but it want me to log in and shouldn't the history have been cleared when I cleared the data?

No, this is not a real virus. The "Four Virus" is a simple scam that focuses on browsing history. For example, if you visit a 17+ site it will tell your personal data is exposed. Every time you get this message it will tell you to download an app. Do not follow these directions. To resolve the problem, turn on airplane mode. Next, clear your browsing data. After that you should be able to go online without these "warnings".

i read down below and i saw don t tap the fix button and i got a 'virus' alert and i pressed fix and i installed the antivirus app and now my phone is ****ed forever

It's fake. It says 28.1% no matter what. There isn't really a way to determine that instantly though, you'd have to check files for that.
