The Pre does not "simultaneously run" 50 apps. What you see in that vid is the Pre OPENING 50 apps without getting a memory error. The vast majority of them are dormant immediately afterward,

Actually they dont go dormant immediately afterward, if you look closely you will see that they are still running when they are in card view.

Homebrewing your Pre is no different than rooting your Android device.

There is a big difference, you dont have to physically root on the Pre[Plus]

Synergy is already largely replicated in Android 2.0.

I read all the time on here, how apps dont talk to other apps, and how people wish they could have synergy with messaging/chat/calenders.

One of the major issues that many of my friends/colleagues have had with the Pre hardware was with the headphone jack. Shockingly enough, Palm used a really cheap headphone jack that would get stuck in headset mode when you physically removed your headset, but the phone would keep recognizing that the headset was there. It made it really fun answering calls but not being able to hear the caller.

Did any of you who have been lucky enough to test out the EVO try using the headset? If so, how did it sound/function, and were there any "sticking" issues?

Headset issue happened to my first 2 Pre's. Now, I'm afraid to use the headset for fear that it might break again!

i'm only going with OEM Sprint or HTC EVO chargers. i don't need to be pinching pennies with a $500 phone. i just hope that the sales people at Sprint give me the correct EVO-compatible micro-USB chargers.

*shrug* I used the droid cables before in a pinch and they worked fine, just figured I could save a few bucks.

The same concerns were voiced when the pre came out.. I have used a variety of charging cables, especially at work when I forgot mine, with no issues with my pre. If you charge from USB on your computer they all are the same, output .5A. While wall chargers output .5V and 1.0A.. This is why your phone will charge slower via usb.. Look at the wall charger that comes with the phone and the small print about the output, compare with what you have and save some $$.

Funny how it doesn't mention the Pre though as that's what I bought it for, and it would work on the Motorola Droid also... ah well.
