AC Question

I have photos on my sd card but cannot see them from the galaxie s3 phone.

I cannot view them from the gallery app nor can I view them from the camera app. I have remounted the card, powered the phone off and on, etc. I did get the photos onto my pc but would like to view them from gallery or the camera app. Frustrated!

Re: I have photos on my sd card but cannot see them from the galaxie s3 phone.

1. Find the files with My Files. Tap one of them. See if Gallery opens with that picture. If it doesn't open, the picture isn't a filetype that Gallery can display.

2. Look for a file named .nomedia in the folder the pictures are in, or a folder above it (up to the root of the SD card). That tells the media scanner to not scan there, or any folder below it. If the media scanner doesn't find a picture, no app will show it. (They don't each scan the entire phone every time you run a media app, they look in the media database for files they can use - music apps look for music files, Gallery looks for pictures, etc.) If the media scanner doesn't find the file, the app won't show it.

3. Notice the dot at the beginning of the filename, .nomedia. That makes it a hidden file. Check your picture files for that. The media scanner won't find hidden files.
