I was finally successful and got my Core Prime rooted with TWRP and Magisk!

I see the version of the TWRP I have is2.8.7.0 can I install a newer version, like3.3.1-0 on top of it or no? I assume the TWRP is made for each specific device?

Found out how to change to the /sd card for backups.

In spite of some hiccups all seems to be working fine, thanks to those who helped me in the forum.

TWRP is device specific.
Flashing wrong version will cause you issues.

2 methods to change TWRP version If TWRP already installed,

Download the .img file, flash through TWRP (reboot back into TWRP ).

Download .img.tar file and flash through Odin.
