I hope the iPhone 6S has 2 day battery life!

Hoping that Apple focus on battery life for the iPhone 6S, if they can give it two day battery life, that would be amazing. This will kick the android OEM's into gear and we will finally be able to rid ourselves of battery range anxiety.

2 days battery life sounds good on paper. But practically it has draw back. To achieve that manufacturer need to increase the battery capacity. And that lead to 1) thicker or bigger phone size 2) longer charging time.

In my opinion, I think as long as the phone can last through 1 full day of heavy usage is good enough.

I agree with the above, look at the S6 for example, this has a 2,550mAh battery, which is smaller than the S5 - yet with the right processor on board Samsung are able to bring out a phone that easily lasts all day. Plus the phone charges to 100% in no time at all.

I think new implements like Doze coming in Android M will be the way forward for Android phones, I would like to see thicker phones with better batteries but I just don't see companies doing it.

Quick charges are quite popular. My Droid Turbo has a 3900 mAh battery and doesn't take long to charge. The engineers at Apple would need to figure out how to integrate the size increase.

I was trying to find this here on AC & maybe I missed it? But there was some news by Samsung about battery capacity going forward.

Apple has had multiple opportunities to improve their ios battery life, and consistently chose not to. They've obviously decided that size and weight is a much more important consideration to their average customer.

Not gonna happen until battery tech is improved to the point that you can fit it into non phablets. This is basically the only remaining area where hardware hasn't caught up.

It's not very likely because the iPhone 6 itself is already pretty darn thin, and the 6S is pretty much an upgraded iPhone 6.

Since battery tech hasn't changed much in years, the most we can expect is about a day, and that's not bad, but 2 day battery-life might be a stretch.

Note that even though the 6 has a tiny battery compared to the S6 and even the One M7, it can last for a day, which is actually pretty good.

The slimmer and smaller the phone .. the less battery .... i dont mind a thicker phone ... but needs good battery
