I just pre-ordered the Gear S2 3G from Verizon...apparently will be delivered by 11/05

Not speaking for other posters, but I don't know that I implied it was too thick, but rather compared to the non-3g, it is noticeably thicker, and less elegant looking (to me). I reckon if I hadn't already become accustomed to the non-3g, the 3g thickness probably wouldn't bother me as much.

Got my silver & white S2 3G today and I love it! It's much better looking than the charcoal and Classic, IMO.

It's not thick at all nor heavy.

Making calls is nice and simple (through bluetooth) and the volume is pretty good. It was well worth the wait!

I got mine today also, not as thick as I was afraid of. Looks fine. The battery is draining much faster, I used it for a phone call for about 5 minuets and battery fell about 15%. After that the drain was much slower. I will have to see how it drains tomarrow when I start with a new full charge.

Yeah not loving the battery drain on this watch but I guess if it lasts a day then I can charge it every night. Thats really my only complaint so far.

As far as battery, I'd assume that if the 3g/cellular is turned off in Connections settings, that the 3g version should actually last longer than the non-3g version, as it has 50 more mAh. Of course if you use it more to listen to music, or for phone calls, that'll drain it, but for the occasional quick phone call, seems like it would be fine.

Today I took the watch off of charge at 7:30am and at 10:18pm it's at 10%. I received the normal email/notices, used S voice several times, did not use it without phone nor did I use the call function. I consider this minimum/normal usage.

since it sounds like you weren't specifically needing the 3g functionality, did you have that turned on in the Connections setting? Will be interesting to see if turning it off boosts battery life.

I had it turned on (always on). Tomarrow I will turn it off. My watch just died at 10:56pm. It asked if it should turn on power saving mode but before I could hit yes it died.

Edit time.

For those who got theirs, what carrier, and is your number the same as your smartphone number? AT&T variant is said to have the same number as your smartphone...

I am with Verizon and I got a separate number for the watch. The cost per month $5.

Before I left work had charged to 100% after two 30 minute calls it was at 15%. If you are in a low strength, or 1 bar or no bar area turn off the gear mobile or it will be dead in 2.5 hrs trying auto switch mode today. Mine was set to always on. But everyone says it sounds great on a call. I use it paired with a Plantronics Legend. Hope this helps
