I love HTC , but still have not bought One (M8) ...because of the camera

Re: I love htc, but still have not bought m8...because of the camera

I wanted a good camera at first also before I bought the M8..but then I figured.. I have a DSLR for pics so why should i care so much?

I care because I never carry my DSLR with me... my phone is currently my only used camera

Re: I love htc, but still have not bought m8...because of the camera

I was on the fence because of the camera as well, especially after the reviews came out. Oh man, am I so happy that I didn't decide against this phone for that reason. Look, bottom line. This M8 camera isn't going to win any awards. It's a good not great camera that makes up for it with some of the best software on any phone. I always tell people who can't decide to actually go play with it. You won't want to leave the store without it. It's simply an amazing phone.

Did I mention that the front facing camera on the M8 puts all others to shame?

I have the same feeling when the moment I touched the phone. I wanted to walk out of the store with it. TMO employee told me the TMO version didn't come with the extreme battery saving mode, so I decided to go home and order it online.

Yah that front facing camera is one of the reason why I wanted to get the phone too

A lot of this is speculation and relying on reviewers (we all know phone reviewers are some of the worst). I bought it because of the camera and absolutely love it. If you take a moment to figure out how to play off it's strengths, it pays you back. Look at the photo thread in the sticky section above. Ufocus has been incredibly handy and, most importantly, is easy to apply. I'd never bother with downloading software and editing a phone pic, but it's easy with the M8. This thread sounds like justification for not making a purchase, not actual objective interest.

I prefer android ... I would have gotten iphone or Noika if it runs android.

Hell yeah. Give me a larger iPhone running android and I'd be set.

I am going to get it for the camera to. Don't have an upgrade for 6 months or so so I am going to pay full price for it. Don't know yet if I will get one from at&t for $640 or go with the unlocks or developer edition for $700. I'm kinda waiting to see if HTC will drop the price to $650.

For a creative mind, like mine, the M8 can be so rewarding. Having the very best smartphone attached to it makes it even sweeter. I love being able to do things I could never do on other cams, and quickly too. Not for everyone, but definitely for me.

Camera is what sold me on the M8.

It's so easy to get interesting photos.

I'm amazed at the number of people who consider this important. This phone kicks *** on so many levels and you're going to give it up for a camera?? It's a phone!

I looked at the photo thread everyday. I can't help to feel disappoint about the colors... it just feels so ... gray
Here i randomly took one of the photos taken with m8 outdoors and edited to bump it up a bit

If this is something htc can just put into the algorithm... I am sold

Re: I love htc, but still have not bought m8...because of the camera

Personally, I love the camera on the M8. Only issue may be on the quality when you zoom in. I've heard where the S5 took amazing outdoor photos, on a nice sunny day. However, what happens when it's not so nice outside, or your indoors in certain lighting?
For the most part, some phones like the S5, can take awesome photos, when your looking for awesome photos to take. However, you will be disappointed when your not concerned about image quality, until after the shot, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Also consider use over time. Tell me, do you prefer a scratched up 16mp camera lens, or a scratched up 4 ultra pixel camera lens? Neither I hope, as both would look horrible.
It's not about how you start the race, but how you cross the finish line. 16mp with a higher price tag, and end with a used lens? Or start out in a different position on price and ability, and end with the same used lense.
Besides, if your still on the fence about a 16mp camera vs a 4 mp camera, wouldn't logic tell you the obvious answer?Hmmm......there's no competition, or is there? Especially when other phones arent very good in low lighting, but the M8 is the best.... Well my friends, you'll be shocked to know, they have us ALL fooled. 4, 8, 16, 20, 100, mp, ultra pixel, etc. It all eventually runs together.
Good luck!

Re: I love htc, but still have not bought m8...because of the camera

cool man. do you mind posting some pictures comparing s3 vs m8? i really wanna see how big the upgrade is.

Two pictures taken at the same time with S3 and M8, although they are from different angles so have different lighting and M8 was me, S3 was my wife.
These two pictures sold me on the M8.

Its fast or faster then the iPhone, had a larger screen, takes great photos in most conditions and blows away the iPhone in low light, does everything an iPhone can do and more, lasts forever on a single charge....

Your right, it's nothing like an iPhone. :-P

Re: I love htc, but still have not bought m8...because of the camera

I love my M8 but I can understand people who wanted more from the camera. For some their smartphone is the only camera they have, so it should be as good as it can be. HTC needs to improve that next year.
