I know it wasn't overly popular but I used it daily.
Sit down after a long day to watch TV and then be like...
Where's the remotes!?
I never used to have to do that.
😢

My S5 never worked with my tv, so I never got a chance've too miss it. I have a large arm rest on my couch that holds my tv and Blu-ray remotes, so I'm good.

I never used mine on previous phones. I see how others do use there's. Just never appealed to me

I used to like it a lot. When you have kids at home, the remote sometimes gets lost. I started using Logitech Harmony Hub, with the Android app. Not inexpensive, but a great replacement for the IR port.

If you have a Samsung TV, you can just control the TV with your phone over Wifi with "Smart Connect". That's what I do its so convenient

There are still options to control many receivers without the IR blaster. It was pretty cool though.

I haven't missed it for years. If I truly need to control my TV and the remote isn't by I can just use the app for my provider and change it -- or simply grab the remote before I sit.

I've missed it since I got a Note 5. I pulled out my galaxy tab which has one to use as a remote but it wasn't working. Found out samsung killed IR blaster functionality with a firmware update. Why Samsung, why?

because Sammy loves to take away the things we love :P

One of the reasons that I still have my LG G2. The IR Blaster. I use it to stream Netflix and Hulu to my bedroom TV on the wi-fi and as a remote. It sucks as a phone now but excels in it's new role. :)

It's a feature I found cool to have, but only used a few times. Still have 2 or 3 older phones with it lying around.

While it was good to have when my remote decided to go missing, I prefer a actual remote with buttons I can feel. Still, I have 2 Note 4's, 2 Note 3's and a Note 2 that I can use if my remotes decide to take vacation. Also, all my TV's and the such are connected via WiFi so I don't even have to be in the same room to change a channel or record a program.

never had it so i do not miss it, i do kind of miss having the apple TV remove that was on my old:-[ iphone :-[

Ugh... Quit talking about it. It wasn't just a gimmick for many of us. I just gave up my N4 for the 300 AT&T credit. Bye bye blaster.

I've held onto my Note 4 and Note Edge and keep the Note 4 charged constantly just for the IR blaster. Those phones still work great as phones but they are slow compared to todays phones.

And that's why I have a s5 and mega 6.3 sitting around the house.
