I need some help with phone signal....

ok this is my problem. any and all suggestions are welcome and very appreciated.

I have the driod eris with verizon. Where I live right now, I do not have very much reception. On occasion I can send and receive text messages. I am able to connect to my home wifi service. Is there a way that I can make and receive phone cell calls through my wifi service? This is driving me crazy not having my cell all the time. plus people are thinking that I'm ignoring them!

i too have an eris and live in the sticks, on the edge of coverage. i bought a network extender from verizon ($200). haven't had any problems since.
