I need to get an LG G2 out of a bootloop without losing data

I was trying to get some data off of an LG G2. The battery died, and when I charged it up and rebooted it, it bootlooped. I did just root the phone, but this was not the first reboot after rooting it. I had rebooted it 2 or 3 times before with no problems. I can think of three possible ways to recover the phone without losing the data, but I don't really know how to proceed with any of them:

1. Install TWRP using download mode, but it appears that with this phone, I can only flash the main OS with download mode, overriding the data in the process, and I'd have to use a Windows machine to do it.

2. Somehow get access to ADB and use that to fix the problem (or just get the data off because I don't really care about the phone itself.)

3. Boot into fastboot mode and do stuff from there to get it back up, but it seems like in order to make it do that, the phone has to be unable to boot in whatever boot mode I try to boot it into (whether that's Android, download mode, or factory reset mode)

So right now, I'm not sure what to do because it's not broken enough for me to be able to get at the boot mode that I think I need, but it is broken enough that I can't boot it enough to recover data or break it more.

Is one of my ideas above able to work? If so, how would I execute it? If not, what else would I try?

I really hate not being able to burn a Linux LiveUSB and stick it into the phone.

I'm thinking you're not going to get a lot of advice here in the general Ask a Question section, especially since you've rotted your device. I would recommend XDA Developers forums because they deal a lot more with rooting and root issues. Given the age of this device I'm not sure they will even be able to help you but you stand a better chance there than here.

Two things I can tell you that have helped me with bootloops are turning off Fastboot and trying to boot without the SIM card installed. These were both separate issues and both with stock devices so it may be no help to you at all.

Yeah, I tried XDA already. Nobody responded. It really isn't that old of a device, mine just happened to have some manufacturing defects that made it become unusable as a phone prematurely, but I guess people like to treat their devices like disposable trash.

What do you mean by "turning off fastboot?"

The SIM card is already out because the phone has been retired. That is why I'm trying to get the data off of it.

What I found on the device says it was released in 2013... 7 is old in phone years when many upgrade every 2 to 3 years and most by or before 5.

I went Googling and perhaps I misspoke as to being able to turn it on or off, I thought I remembered seeing the advice to turn this off but what I found on it sounds like what I would call the Bootloader. They seem to be similar modes from what I've seen online. Most directions for exiting Fastboot simply involve restarting the device.

7 isn't that old. I consider a device "old" when its hardware becomes incapable of running typical modern workloads either at all or with acceptable performance, requiring the device to be demoted from its role as a primary device or retired completely.

The thing is, I want to enter fastboot, not exit it. As far as I can tell, devices haven't had the bootloader menu for many years now.
