I ordered the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G. Any provisioning of SIM for 5G? Is it a better choice?

I had ordered the ultra before but returned it because I couldn’t find 5g+ in my city. Now that I have a solid idea of where it is, do I need to have the sim provisioned to enable 5g ? And is it a solid choice over the ultra? My only gripe I saw other than not finding 5g (not its fault) is that it was too long. What do you think?

I want to buy my wife a Christmas present and a Birthday present.
I want to let her pick out a n20 5g
I live in the country .there is no 5 g service here period.
But her sister lives in Houston.
We have a condo in Houston that we don't use.
I want her to have the option if she goes there.
She says her note9 is fine.

It definitely will not be a at&t or any other carrier phone.
It will only be a universal unlocked phone so it will work on any carrier.

Hope she will let me buy her s phone.

Sounds like he is not going to spend the extra money for 5g because it ain't where he lives.
He's gonna have to answer his own question.

Adding 5 G us like buying a tool box.
The more tools you have in the tool box..the more things you can do. The more options you have.

except with a tool box you can alwsys buy more tools.

With a phone, if you limit those options, you can't add them.
Cause you chose that you didn't need them.
Then later on down the road.
If you go into a area where the options can be used you can't use them cause you decided you didn't need them.

For me, look at how much you are spending on a phone.
Look at how much time you spend on a phone.
Don't limit your options.
Get as many as you can use.
So you can do whatever you want and do whatever you may be able to do.
You dont stay in one place with a phone.
It goes everywhere.
And technology is opening up everyday.

I cannot see where I enable 5G. Or is it automatically enabled on the AT&T s20 plus version?

Not an expert, but I have an AT&T S20+. When I stumble across an area where 5G (or AT&T's 5Ge) is available, the phone automatically detects and indicates that connectivity in the notification bar. Nothing overt you need to do, at least not on mine. Cheers.

Not an expert, but I have an AT&T S20+. When I stumble across an area where 5G (or AT&T's 5Ge) is available, the phone automatically detects and indicates that connectivity in the notification bar. Nothing overt you need to do, at least not on mine. Cheers.

I don't have a 5G

But I thought that's how they was supposed to work.
Like switching from 3g to 4g.

You shouldn't have to enable but depending on the carrier you may or may not have to add it to your plan.
