I personally witnessed an AT&T Rep pushing Samsung in a big way today.

This happened to me too. I'm actually with sprint but I walked into att to play with both phones. The lady there was really hyping up the GS4..

Was in A Sprint store today and this lady needed a new phone. She asked the rep what was the best phone and he didn't hesitate.
I know she had no clue of the choices available. And while the S4 is at the top of the spectrum, it isn't there by itself.
It's upsetting to think that had I not done my research, I could possibly have never known about the One, much like her, simply because that's what that rep liked. Every time I asked about it, and at several different stores, they ALL tried swaying me to the S4.

The reps at my store seemed to be encouraging the Galaxy as well. Maybe Samsung is offering incentive. Or maybe the rep really likes the phone and was giving an honest recommendation based on the customer's needs, which is very possible. It is a great device.
 
Yeah we like to mock others and call them sheep. But I'm pretty confident that Samsung would be happy to have similar lines of sheep for their products.

Nah. I liked the ads alot. It's actually what caught my attention for the GS3 after being a longtime Palm user. And it's not like Apple will countercampaign and say look, Samsung now has sheep too. I think Samsung is doing a great job showing off their features in their ads and they are funny.

Apple pisses me off when they show a feature in their ads on the iPhone after its been available on other phones for two years and then act like they invented it. That's why we call them sheep, cause people buy into it.

I had the exact opposite experience. Walked into a Sprint store debating between the s4 and One and the Rep convinced me to go with the One. He said personally he is an apple guy but he could tell I wasn't lol. He couldn't have been more right. Then he told me all kinds of stuff that I was unaware of with the One even after a lot of research. I was impressed.
 
I've had bad experiences with all att stores in my area. They straight attack you when you first walk in the store and they don't stop pushing you. I have noticed that they do tend to push Samsung devices. I think they do make more commission on their phones and accessories. I've never really had reps push any LG, iPhone, or HTC. Mostly Samsung.

And Samsung is more well known. I mean even I loved the commercials mocking all the Apple people standing in line amazed that a phone other than Apple could do all those neat things. And the Apple people saying next year Apple will have all those cool features. Whoever came up with that deserves a BIG bonus from Samsung. lol

I'd have to agree. Although I think both the S4 and the HTC One are both really great devices.

I had a rep push LG. It was his personal device. He and I have had a debate for over a year on HTC and Samsung so it Suprised me when I saw he e rocking LG. I still prefer HTC. Most of my Android phones have been HTC

I went my Sprint store the week before the S4 launch to purchase my ONE and all the employees were wearing HTC ONE shirts. Then we went back a week later so my wife could compare the ONE and S4. They were still all were there HTC ONE shirts and pushing just as hard for the ONE. So I guess it depends on where you go.

Nah the S4 shirts were delayed. They came around a week after release.

It's even better as a rep helping someone who thinks they know more than you. Some people think because they frequent blogs and tech sites they know it all... It's awesome shutting them down sometimes.

My boy bought the S4 this weekend through kijiji, the seller mentioned that if he has any problems (it was sealed) tell Rogers that he got it as a gift. The seller apparently got it as a bonus for selling Samsung Super Phones.

I can understand why they would push selling it.
 
This is why when I am going to purchase something I research so that I can kindly tell the salesperson to buzz off (the annoying ones). They are shady people, some of them...

There are sales reps who know their devices. There are good reps. There are also reps who aren't very knowledgeable. Those that are informed have a lot to offer the consumer. Be polite and not bash them.
