I really want this phone but

I don't have any defects on my phone that I noticed so far, but I remember seeing on these forums, that there's an app to detect dead pixels?

What app is that?

Thanks

How are One owners liking that the back is rounded to the point that when it sits on say an office desk and you want to tap a button etc, the phone rocks due to the uneven backside of the phone? I leave my phone on my desk at work and use it while it's sitting flat just fine. I'm thinning the rocking of the One would drive me a bit crazy. So how are you all adapting to that "issue"?

I still have my EVO3D which has a flat back, so I put what you mentioned to the test. This isn't even a problem man.

I went the second morning of release...how badly bruised could they be from being on the floor for 2 days? Even if they were out for a week, your statement has absolutely nothing to do with the type of defects that I mentioned in my original post. Defects that other users are seeing straight out of the box, not something cause by store lurker hands messing with the units.

Also, per my post that you quoted, I base my purchasing judgement off of past experiences. The experiences I've had with HTC in the past were poor. Seeing these display units greatly reminded me of how poor.

Say you were to buy a car you thought looked sexy but after a few years of owning it, it's cause nothing but problems for you. You'll most likely get a bad taste in your mouth. Future car purchases would most likely involve the thought "Once bitten, twice shy" when considering the same manufacturer.
If you based your purchasing judgment on past experience, why were you looking at HTC devices again? Doesn't sound like you used judgment or experience in this instance.
Your car analogy flies hilariously in the face of your recent purchasing experience. You say you'd have a bad taste in your mouth for buying future cars if the one you purchased (because it looked sexy) started having troubles in a few years. Well, why weren't you HTCshy after a past experience of owning troublesome HTC products in the past?
Your car analogy told on you a second time as you mentioned that you bought the car because it looked sexy. What happened to the test drive? You didn't want to annoy the car salesman the way you don't ask reps to let you "test drive" the HTC device before you buy it?
And the "piece de resistance" is that you hope HTC builds the next Nexus!!
