I replaced the rear facing camera lens---yet still see the crack

I ordered a new rear facing camera lens and replaced what I thought was a defective lens.
After all that -- it turns out I still see the crack so whatever was broken is not the lens I replaced. Any ideas as to what else it could be?

Welcome to Android Central! There's usually the lens itself, and then the glass that overlies the lens. If you replaced the latter, then the defect may be on the actual camera lens.
