I tried an iPhone 6 Plus but back to my Nexus 5

I was intrigued by the big screen on the iPhone 6 Plus so I sold my Nexus 5 and got an iPhone 6 Plus. The phone is quite big but not TOO big. The screen on it is amazing, the battery life is amazing and the build quality is great. With that being said, I returned the iPhone 6 Plus today and re-bought a Nexus 5 from a co-worker. In the end the iPhone 6 Plus is nice and has a great camera also but to drop 750+ on it, it is not THAT much better than my Nexus 5.

When I first held the Nexus 5 after a week with the plus it felt tiny. I even examined the phone thoroughly to make sure it was a Nexus 5 and not some small initiation. It really felt tiny. I love the size, weight and feel of the Nexus 5 over the Plus anyday of the week. The iPhone 6 plus is big heavy and sturdy but just not for me. Many will enjoy it but I will keep rocking my Nexus for a month or 2.

My plan is to check out the Nexus 6 and if it's too big (5.9") then I'll grab a Moto X 2014 edition probably.

Just wanted to give some insight into a user who has had the new iPhone but loves his Nexus!

Thanks for the input! I'm still holding out hope that Google will surprise us with a refreshed Nexus 5 alongside the new Nexus 6. They could easily make the upcoming Droid Turbo into a new Nexus 5 ...

android L just may breathe refreshing life into the nexus 5, with a few surprises...

**I suspect** they may integrate the native dialer with hangouts, to introduce, wifi, volte, any data eccentric calling, to be baked into the android framework..

I hope the Nexus 6 is not going to be a phablet. Those big phones are a pain to keep holding when on calls and you can't even use one hand. If anything I welcome a refresh nexus but not at a bigger screen.

I think I will hold out till Google bring out a 64bit Nexus in 2015 that should have something smaller by then than Maxwell Smart's shoe phone.

However since I am T-Mobile I won't buy any phone that doesn't support T-Mobiles new future LTE network of Block A on the Band 12 (700MHz). iPhone 6 supports Band 12 but not T-Mobiles "A" Block that was (UHF TV channel 51). T-Mobile is currently hooking up to its low band spectrum that goes live at the end of this year. I don't really remember enough to compare but I do remember the calls on the iPhone being very clear.

And here is the next smartphone key factor which is just going to get bigger and bigger: Value for money. Ignoring brand, why drop $700 (SGS5) or $800 on an iPhone when a new $350 nexus device will do 99% of the flagships and in some cases (wireless charging) more?

Since I've been using wireless chargers, I don't even think about the battery anymore. Basically every time I set it down at home or at work, it's also charging.

They have gotten really cheap. I bought 4 wireless charge pads on eBay for $10 each.

I've been meaning to get one, but I'll be getting a 6+ soon anyways and why waste money? Apparently the 6+ can go on for 2 days and with a 3000mah battery I would expect as much.

That is insane! Yeah I would take longer lasting battery over constant wireless charging.

Yes, that's almost certainly the case. But that would be like comparing the Nexus 5 to the iPhone 4S. I just think it makes more sense to compare devices that are from roughly the same time period, since tech advances so quickly.
