I use 1,150GB per month on average. Am I crazy to be thinking about switching from VZW toT-Mobile?

Re: I use 1,150GB per month on average. Am I an ***** or thinking about switching from VZW T-Mobile?

Canada is definitely different. In America the unlimited plans are actually unlimited (for Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile) -- there isn't a 10 GB max limit or anything like that.

I pay for unlimited on my phone and have Comcast at home. I would rather have a wired connection due to what I do at home.

Same here.

Cellular internet isn't optimal for online gaming and that's why I pay for Comcast. With Comcast, I get 125 Mbps Download with 25 Mbps Upload. That's great and all but my ping is in the single digits locally which no cellular connection will provide.

I'm not sure what the topic creator does but as for myself gaming wouldn't work properly. Too many issues. I use maybe half a gig to a gig per month on my 2GB plan. I obviously connect to WiFi when I'm at home due to the speed increase.

I'd prefer that the OP stay with Verizon and don't come messing it up for the rest on T-Mobile.

I think it'd be funny if OP went to T-Mobile and got deprioritized after the first day all month and lost his grandfathered Verizon plan.

There is no justification for using that much data on a wireless network and causing congestion for everyone else on that site.

People don't understand the limits of the infrastructure nor do they care because its unlimited. I would never use my phone for my home internet and because of this I cut my phone bill in half by going from Unlimited Minutes/Text/Data to 2GB of data but kept the rest. Those savings, which equal about $60, get me 125 Mbps from Comcast.

You are correct, and I agree with you. However, my home Internet recently went from $40 per month to $60 per month, after my introductory promo expired.

The cable company was under no obligation to extend it, nor did I expect them to.

I canceled and they didn't seem to miss me, nor would I expect them to.

I still have an unlimited Verizon line that I pay around $45 per month for. I used it specifically for 90 days, after canceling my cable Internet. It was a solid B to B+, compared to the A of my cable company.

My usage ranged from 45 to 77 gb for those months. At the end of 90 days, I called my cable company and asked them if I could requalfy as a new customer.

They welcomed me back with open arms and put me back on the 12 month introductory promo. My Verizon line is suspended again without billing.

Ultimately, I was able to save a significant amount of money from the cable company.

Was it at the expense of abusing my Verizon unlimited data plan? Yes. But, just wanted to share my story for anyone that cares.
