I walked into Walmart and got one

Long time lurker on this site
Just want to give thanks for this thread. Was able to get one from Walmart yesterday in Columbia MD.
FYI - Walmart dosen't sell many phones at all so therefore their CSR are clueless to how they sell phones. It took me about an hour to get mine but what saved me for even getting the phone was that I had Sprints backdoor Number in handy and called them 3 times and handed my phone to the CSR Rep so the Sprint Rep could coach him on what to do.
I suggest yall definitely do that if you go to Walmart
My local Walmart had a full stock of them as I believe no one knows Walmart has the phone and the funny thing is that there is a Sprint Store located right next to walmart in the plaza and they have still yet to receive their 1st shipment.

Which sprint #? I am going tomorrow and would love to know the # so I can call sprint and hand the WM person my phone.

Thanks

Is there anyway to tell which Walmarts sell Sprint phones and which do not? I called a couple around here and they don't even sell Sprint phones.

Walmart has the best website in regards to accurately tracking inventory per location

Got one today. It took me 20 minutes. Thanks for the tip!

I pre-ordered at Best Buy in the store, but had yet to receive so I popped into the Union, NJ Wal-Mart last night and there was a single E4gLte in the locked case, but none on display. 30 minutes later, I own it! Thanks to the OP!! Needless to say, cancelling my BB pre-order.:D

Just got back from Walmart (3rd time).
The clerk was fantastic. I explained what was going on with this phone and she was determined not to let me leave without it.
What she needed to do:
Paper Contract (Her computer simply would NOT let her navigate through the menus)
Contact her Sprint rep via phone and had them manually activate the phone.
Price Override for the $158.
Done.

Yesterday I was reading this thread and decided to call my local WM. Lo and behold! Canceled my BB preorder as well. The sweetest part though, was that it rang up at $78.88. I wasn't sure why until I checked the receipt later and saw that he rang it up as an HTC EVO Design 4G.

$78.88 for my EVO LTE :)

Sold my Nexus S today for $100, so I guess I made a little. Still that pesky activation fee though :p

I still keep getting told I have to have a local number relative to the area to purchase one through Walmart. Has anyone else experienced this? I find that hard to believe, but either way they still won't sell me one yet.

Is there a way around this if this is true?

I have a Cleveland OH number living in Maryland. Was not an issue when I got mine from Walmart
Just the Account Number and scanning the ESN in their system was an issue which Sprint had to give them a walk through over the phone at my request.

THANKS TO mpd003! I went into a Wal-Mart on the way home from work last night and advised a representative that they should have 1 of the LTEs in stock. She found it but was unable to sell it to me because it was 1:30AM. I went to a different Wal-Mart this morning ang advised them of the same thing. They were surprised and at first thought that they couldn't sel it. After some verbal sparring not only did they sell em the phone but they price matched $149.00 and I got it for $159.06 out the door! THANKS TO ANDROID CENTRAL!
