I would like to add my ameritech.net email to yahoo so it can manage all of my accounts.

when I hit the add mail box for yahoo to forward, it only offers google, yahoo, outlook or aol. if you hit other, it says your email is not supported by yahoo and we will mail you when it becomes available. My only option is to use google or some other provider that will manage all my services.

You'd need to talk to Yahoo and/or Ameritech to work out how to add the mailbox, or move to Google as you suggest later in your post.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? If it has a stock Email app, you should be able to add the Ameritech (and Yahoo) email account there.
