ICS.....05/09/12.....well?

I do wonder when the phone will get the update. I really only want Roboto on my phone without having to root.

that takes you to a program that requires root to make the change
My memory failed me again. I forgot that was root only. I used it back when I was on the first port of the S-XE rom. I wonder if Roboto can install it from the ext_sd using the actual Roboto (developer) file w/out a need for a 3rd party installer on a locked phone. I don't recall reading anyone tried it and failed. They didn't open availability to download the files publicly until mid March.

You tried to help me out before and I couldn't find a way to tell you that link did not work. Now for this .zip file. Do I just put it on my SD card and do the hold up when turing it on, and flash it to my phone?

Where can the newest leak be found for download ? I am not rooted. can someone post a link? Tired of waiting thanks

No, you'd just enable sideload installs and toss it on the root of your ext_sd. Then using a file manager like Astro, open to install. If it can be done by the phone alone that's how it'll happen. If the file manager can't install. You may need an app installer from Google Play to exe the install. I wouldn't get your hopes up. I'm not sure of what files are in this .zip. It's the core component, meant specifically for devs working with stock ICS. I'm not sure if the stock installer can do anything with it if your locked on GB. I'd recommend unlocking, no need to root, via htc-devs for the best chance of installation.

Idk what VZW is waiting for on this. ICS is smooth and with Apex launcher it's very close to vanilla ICS. So glad I went ahead and installed the leak.

They certainly don't have anything compelling enough on the software end to foster the holdup. My only guess is a wrap up on the Moto Razr builds and/or a closer proximity Dinc HD release.

If I install this will I still get the o t a when it comes out

It depends on what the final revision numbers are for the final build are w/ the official ota. I'm on a BAMF rom, so I haven't ran any of these rc's but from what I gather this recent leak is very solid as a release candidate. I'm sure you'd be happy w/ it if you did get shutout. I suspect we'll see at least one, maybe even 2, more before they wrap it up. They generally go through a number of revised candidates before it can get pulled or pushed via ota.

I don't think you'll find anyone that will give you a definitive yes or no. My understanding is if the version number of the OTA is higher than the leak, and chances are it will be, then you'll still get the OTA. Otherwise, no you won't get the OTA. Again though, I don't think anyone knows for sure.

Since many of the "no" responses are based on previous scenarios, it's likely going to prove true. If you jump in the pool take heed of that and expect the worse. So if the best happens there's no bitter taste of regret left in your mouth.

^^ This. I agree 100%.

I download the file and when I went to open it it says it was corrupt is there another link I can try

That is the fastest link, just try it again, and check the MD5 (I used Astro), before attempting the upgrade.
