Ok, so i installed the update yesterday on stock Note (not rooted). External sd card worked for a few minutes, then i got a message pop up that said something like "card unmounted, more safe to remove card". Ever since then, the phone won't recognize my sd card at all. Removed and reinserted it several times. Rebooted several times. Just does not see the card at all anymore.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you see an option Mount SD Card in your Storage settings? Should be at they very bottom if it's there.

Unfortunately, the Mount option is greyed out. Says "insert card" under neath.

Do you have another card to try? If that does the same, you may want to try a factory reset or something along those lines.

Have you tried putting the card into a PC and reformatting it? Maybe see if a PC or another device can recognize it at all? Maybe the phone is right and the card itself is damaged or no good anymore.

I don't have another card at the moment. But i did test out my card on my friends galaxy S2, and it worked no problem.

May have to do a reset to put everything right. It sounds like you may have a bad SD driver on the phone.

A lot of times when upgrades are installed and they do not reset the device to a factory state, old drivers can stay resident in the new OS that do not work properly. The factory reset will overwrite the default drivers and such and eliminate any resident software that may have been from the old system.

This was an issue on Windows PC's for quite some time. Fresh installs were always preferred over upgrades.

I got the same message about 20 minutes after updating. I had wiped the card pre-update. Turned off device, removed card, put it back in, turned on phone, cleared delvik cache and no problems since.

How did you clear the cache?

I have tried everything else I can think of. Might try calling AT&T, though my gut tells me that will be a waste of my time. I was hoping to not have to do a factory reset. But looking more like I will need to.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Turn off phone, hold volume up, volume down, and power all at the same time until "Samsung" appears, then release. You'll get a couple options, use volume to scroll down to "Clear Delvik Cache" and power to select.

Same thing happened to me. I had to reformat in my computer. That fixed my problem. Good thing i only had music in it. Hope you fix your problem.

The cache clear didn't help. But reformatting the card on my PC did work. So its back to working now. Thanks guys.
