I think HTC and Samsung is the only ones that listen too there customers in regards too the updates for there phones.

So as others figured out...mine did run smoothly, but it didn't change os. In the past it wouldn't notify of an update and run straight through, anyway my PC is formatting / reinsinstalling my partitions but win 8 / xp / mint ( on separate hd) so once I'm
all set I'll see again. i was suprised bc the mobile notification tool never just pops up stating software "O" is available. Anyway what's also strange...if it was stated that sprint had begun pushing update, why are they hiding it? I feel like they really did forget about our handset although spec wise is high end, lacks marketing, publicity, and small things like screen size/resolution. Than again, we were advertised as running ICS a while ago, until i posted all over their forum and they "corrected it", except the mobile site. Somewhere along the lines, communication breakdown happened between lg and sprint, blame Robert plant lol. For now, w my theme, beats audio, v6 + kak finally set to my liking, I like gb lol....ics is going to limit us more. (for those who dont know how to theme/mod/deodex/script...I'll throw together a flashable if interested, it's kind of a double edged Sword....now i have gb w correct memory management, ics will just create limitations...(still going to try it but made offline nandroid so hopefully can flash back once cwm is tweaked. anyone else please post if you get a push notification. Sad because I'm fine with this screen and resolution, yet consumers on the average look past specs for vanity.
Edit; for a true update via handset tool, they want you to pull battery/ restart to get info from boot loader, not download mode direct. If and when you get the error during update, is when they want a change into dl mode or, just boot loader access again.

S#$T we have enough talent on this forum too find a way too make ICS update ourselves and let sprint ask us how too create one. LMFAO
wasnt oct 24 just a rumor to begin with, anyways?...i don't see anything legit about oct 24...its def gunna be late november-early january...considering the source was just recently updated..and I'm sure sprint still had to build and test it out for at least a few weeks..that's just the way i see it..maybe we'll have it for thanks giving...in the mean time...blahhhhhh!

What the strange thing is, about a month ago, if you went to sprint.com to shop for a phone, the specs for viper stated running ics, and sprint tech support really thought it was, until i got transferred to tier 3 and mentioned false advertisement.
