root, backup, flash Arctic HD ROM. i believe the dev has walked away from this rom though. haven't seen much development for it lately. but it does have the fully functional rings widget. i wouldn't recommend flashing a custom rom just for a widget though, it is not worth it. try One More Clock, i believe there is a widget in there that looks the same as the rings, without the functionality.
