ICS update

ICS....ICS....ICS....ICS....

I got the A500 for xmas from the wife and love it. If it gets ICS, great!! If not, oh-well...it's still a killer tablet. FWIW, I can understand the plight for users that are expecting an ICS update as Acer did say it was coming for the A500 but to throw a tantrum is funny at best. If you feel Acer screwed you, vote with your wallet...maybe soon they will listen to consumers and not promise something they can't deliver.

In speaking with a good support tech.. we can expect ICS in mid march for both A200 and A500.. right or wrong, but the date for A200 continues to get pushed back, from it's original Feb release... I hope this doesn't become a continuation of delays

Acer is well known for there android update delays. They come through in end, however we don't know when that end is.

There are root exploits that work with 3.2.1, I believe the method is over at XDA

I don't want to root even if I knew how. If I'm told something will be here in January 2012 then by GOD thats what I expect. If I were to tell someone I was going to deliver on something and didn't come through and then not even as much issue a statement as to why I bet that someone would be pissed. Thats the way I see Acer. They said January 2012 for ICS on A500 and it hasn't happened. I am sick of being led around by the nose by not only Acer but all manufactures. They take our money and while laughing all the way to the bank their thinking all the while how can we screw these people all over again. I am just sick of the constant change ever 6 months just to try and stay current. At least Apple will supper their product for the life of the device.

Acer NEVER officially announced ICS for the A500 or the A200 in January...they OFFICIALLY stated the A200 will be updated mid February...so since that being said I think you should unbunch your panties or just sell your amazing A500 and buy a apple product so THEY can tell YOU what to do with it, then head on over to the tibp or imore website or whatever i name it has just like every product they ever had because they've all been the same and fan boy it up over there! All your posts are apple this apple that and saying how there's been statements saying that this will get ICS when its NEVER been stated is super annoying. </rant>

Screenshots from Acers website...confirming the A200 is upgradeable to ICS while not saying a d$*m thing about the A500 getting it.............so please stop posting all over the interwebz that Acer officially stated that ICS was coming in January because its a lie! Read reliable sources next time, thanks.

looks like ICS has begun to roll out on A200 so now we MAY see it on the A500 soon. We shall see
