ICS update

I saw this on ACER ANZ's facebook page

"Acer ANZ
Great news, everyone! We’ve just got confirmation from HQ that the Iconia Tab A500 will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich in April. No exact date yet, but we’ll let you know when we have it. What are you looking forward to most in ICS?"

Great news,... | Facebook

Do note that this is not ACER America's site - just for Australia/NewZealand
But hopefully, we will get it at about the same time (or earlier) in the US

Just out of curiosity, where did you see ACER promising ICS for A500 in Jan 2012?

Some hipsters blog...I've seen multiple posts of this but it has NEVER been promised or confirmed.

I really hope it is soon tho...not because I want ICS, because I want my cameras to finally work on ICS :p

Leaked builds are out...Woot for my camera to work again!!!

That means a ota is really close for you non hackerz, prolly only one more month to go!

It shouldn't because its a signed file so it should back everything up just like it would when you accept an OTA

I updated to the leaked rom very easily. I downloaded the update directly on my tablet. Changed the name of the update to update.zip and then used astro file manager to move it to my external SD card. Once I shut down and then booted into recovery (volume up and power button) update took about 8 minutes. My apps and data were all intact so this is a signed ROM. So far completely bug free. Everything is here except for the ACER ring. I'm really impressed with this build and ICS. There are subtle differences which I'm still exploring. If your Iconia is unrooted and stock, then I would suggest heading to XDA and grabbing the update.
