Identifying which contact's mobile number being texted

[AC Question]

I have a few contacts where they have 2 mobile numbers. When I want to text them, how can I see what number I texting to? All I see is the person's name. Is there a way to display the number as well?

I am on Android 6.01.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do it through contacts instead of messaging

Depends on SMS app you are using. Some have that option of showing the number.
