If 32GB Nexus 7 is released, what about us 16GB Nexus users?

I disagreed with you, many of us have no time to follow rumors online and we buy products when we need them, as i said, refunding everyone is out of the question, but those who bought it in the last 30days, it is a "nice" thing to do, and not completely crazy to expect since it had been done before by the giants on the same industry, nothing about Entitlement mentality, all we are here is looking for is information to see if they had said something
If you don't have an expectation of compensation in this case, then you don't feel entitled or have that mentality. If you simply think it would be a "nice" gesture, and something not unprecedented in the industry, there's nothing wrong with that. I think that would be nice, also. But if they don't offer anything, I don't think that would be "not nice". That would just be normal and acceptable.

My 15 days for Walmart is up. I don't think they'll take it anymore... will they?

Maybe if you made the biggest nastiest stink to a higher ranking manager, they might let it slide. They used to satisfy customers years ago but with the change of economy, I'm not sure if they take losses as much.

After seeing how things are right now, I think it's best to stay with the 16 until the smoke clears. The 16 is my first tablet and I am really enjoying it.The way Google is introducing the 32 makes me wonder what's around the corner.

If it's going to cost you money to upgrade and your 16 is working, there is no other logical option except to wait.

32gb buyers will be back when Google introduces the 64gb in time for Xmas. (Not based on any known rumors, so please don't start one based on this post!)

What gift? The $25 at the Play Store?

I bought my 16G Nexus 7 on Sept. 29 at Office Depot. The $25 credit expired 9/30...and I had no idea it would. I bought a book and a John Hiatt album from the play store on 9/30 in two transactions and only the book got the (partial) credit applied.

Meanwhile, they cut the price/ doubled the memory within what... three weeks of my purchase? The 32G version is now available (though it shows as out of stock) from Office Depot, but their return poilcy says I had to take the original back in 14 days. I think I'm screwed. Thanks Google.

Wait... the credit itself, once applied to your account, should not expire until next June at the very earliest. It was the OFFER that expired (you couldn't get a NEW $25 credit), not the credit.

If your credit went away or expired, get on the phone with Google right now and demand they make it right.

all I can say is sell your 16gb fast before the price drop hits and more people know about it. thats what i did.

yeah im without a tablet for a short while, but i was able to sell mine for €200 the other day, which is probably a lot better than i would have gotten once the 16gb drops to 200 and the 32gb is released

For the records, I bought mine on Oct 13 and I got my $25 dollar credit, bought about 2 apps, and I just went and checked before posting and I still got $19 credit on my account. The credit should not expire, the "offer" that give you the $25 credit is not longer active.

I was informed by a Google support customer service person that under the "current" policy, it does not cover exchanges of this type of situation. With that being said, either they'll change the "current" policy or they won't change jack poop and you're stuck with your current tablet.
I, myself have the 8gb N7 and I'm kind of bummed out, but I still love my N7.

I would just be happy with a reasonable upgrade plan from my 16 to a new 32, but Google owes us nothing.

For like 30-50 bucks would anyone upgrade there's? Doubtful that they would offer this but I would be interested.

Personally? No. I got the 16GB and have loaded tons of games on it and still have huge loads of empty space on it.

But I can see where it would be an attractive option.

Trouble is, Google is already barely breaking even. So if they offer you a 32GB for $50, they'll need to sell your 16GB as a refurb and it'll net them a lot less than the $200 "credit" they gave you for it. I don't see them taking an additional loss on something they sold you very nearly at cost to start with.

It's more likely, if they feel the need to mollify angry users, that they'll offer Play Store credit (not for use on hardware). Then they only have to pay the developer their share of the "sale", which means you get 25 bucks of value but they spend less than 25 bucks to give it to you.

Wouldn't it be nice if they had you send in your current tablet and install the extra memory in? Lol

Like several people in this thread, I have enjoyed Apple doing the right thing by me when I happen to have purchased an iMac very close to the line upgrade date. I was BEYOND the return period. Not to mention that the iMac was not upgraded within a few months like the Nexus is.

I do not regret buying the N7--Jelly Bean is awesome and I love the seamless integration of all my google accounts. I am very disappointed in them coming out with a hardware upgrade so soon after my investment in a 16gb device. I wonder if Google will try to do right by customers like Apple does. It seems that the chance for that is remote due to lack of physical stores--it is THAT much easier to simply reply to an email with "sorry, nothing we can do."

This is my first Android device and time will tell whether customer service points will go Apple's way on this one.

This is kind of random, but: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...us/?playredirect=true&hl=en-US&token=GHdopy-a
When you look at the 8GB N7 in the play store, it just says: COMING SOON - Sign up to be notified by email when Nexus 7 (8GB) becomes available. So is this a sign that the 8GB will indeed be phased out?

I don't think Google should do anything for current 16GB users, but it really discourages early adopters when you not only decrease the price of a product a few months after release, but sell a better version for the price you paid.. makes it seem like Google goofed up and decided to make a 32GB due to popular demand, rather than it being an intentional process.

Not going to 'early adopt' any future Google android products. I'd rather wait a couple months and save $50 ;).

If the 8gb phases out, does that mean it will become a limited edition product? :D I Kidd, I Kidd. We'll have to wait til early December to see if Google announces anything.
I doubt 16gb N7 owners will get a free upgrade, but I'm almost certain 8gb owners will get to upgrade to 16gb since 8gb N7 might disappear.

The rumor mill on the $99 nexus slowed down, but perhaps it will be a 8 GB device with different hardware specs

The only upgrade we know of so far is memory. Feeling entitled much?

That's the whole deal; the lack of a memory slot makes me wonder why it wasn't included. The other day I read a response to why this was, they said its 'safer'. I agree, but if they added an expansion slot, heck, why not get 8GB. Maybe they'd lose business as well, I don't know.
