If 32GB Nexus 7 is released, what about us 16GB Nexus users?

For the records, I bought mine on Oct 13 and I got my $25 dollar credit, bought about 2 apps, and I just went and checked before posting and I still got $19 credit on my account.

Did you purchase from the Play store or from a retailer? I got mine from a retailer near the end of September, so it arrived after the $25 offer expired. My Play account still shows $0 when I go to the Redeem menu item.

Retailer, Office depot to be exact

I disagreed with you, many of us have no time to follow rumors online and we buy products when we need them, as i said, refunding everyone is out of the question, but those who bought it in the last 30days, it is a "nice" thing to do, and not completely crazy to expect since it had been done before by the giants on the same industry, nothing about Entitlement mentality, all we are here is looking for is information to see if they had said something
Apple builds in enough profit to allow them to do that. Google built in much lower margins. However, because Google has lower margins...

Someone could sell their used 16GB for $175 today, buy a 32GB for $250 on Monday, and still come out ahead of buying an iPad mini.me :D :D

Went to Officedepot today, talked to the manager of my local store, he wrote on my receipt so that I can go back on Monday and Exchange mine for the 32GB, He also told me to go check tomorrow, since the local warehouse show 485 in stock, but they didn't received any today and they don't have deliveries on Sunday or Monday, so if they are to sell it on Monday he said that most likely it will be delivered tomorrow.

I also asked him what happen to those that are pass the 14 days return period but less than 30 days, he said that if anyone come asking for an exchange that he would do it but it is not a corporate policy, it will come down to the manager.

I'm excited that with some luck I should have mine tomorrow.

Yeah I am pissed because I talked with a google rep late last month about the low memory. They knew a upgraded version was coming out. Instead he said they was trying to promote the cloud. So I get one this month, I am past the 15 day return exchange policy for walmart and now I am screwed. I would have bought a 32 gig with data if I was told about it but a 32 for 16 price....... Screwed. I will voice my displeasure directly with google. They should offer an upgrade.

Google does offer an upgrade. It's $249 for a wifi-only 32GB and $299 for the wifi+mobile 32GB Nexus 7. Minus whatever you can get for your used tablet from the Walmart store where you bought it, or from eBay or Craigslist if Walmart won't take it as a trade-in.

I didn't think about asking for the 32GB model because at OD because they show it as out of stock. In fact I couldn't even find it on their website yesterday.
They also show the 16GB model out of stock locally, but I decided, since 30 days passed since my purchase as of yesterday, to try to at least get a price reduction at my local Office Depot.

The manager I talked to on the phone who said to come in with my receipt was off work by the time I got there. However the manager on hand credited the $50 plus sales tax back to my card with no questions asked. I didn't bring in my Nexus 7, just the empty box and my receipt. She was very nice and didn't offer any resistance, even though their price match guarantee and/or exchanges/ returns have an official 14 day limit.

So, for now, I'm happy. Though a functional USB OTG cable would be a nice addition.

Can't believe this thread is still going....

I have a One X. Now that the One X+ is coming out should I get a discount on it? Same thing that's being said here, time between release dates doesn't matter. Technology progresses.

Nothing has changed about what your N7 can do. If it did what you wanted when you bought it then guess what? It's still going to do those things!

Well that is nice but I was specifically talking to the google rep and guess what they knew one was coming out within 45 days. Seriously since it was an initilal concern of mine when we talked IMO technically he should have just made it known that one was so close to being released especially at the same price. Or just being released. Yeah it progesses but i get a shady feeling thinking back when we were talking especially when he was trying to push the cloud feature like a bigger memory model was out of the question.

We had a good talk and there was ample time to fill me in. I would have done it. It is pricipalities.

Just because someone knows something ahead of an official release doesn't mean they can disclose it. There are these things called NDA's....they prevent people from talking about products before they are officially announced. Judging by the conversation and what you're saying now maybe you should've inferred from the conversation that you should wait for the newer version with more storage.

I'm sure like most other people (myself included) you've had conversations where something is implied or inferred, but can't be said directly. This sounds like one of those times.

For some reason, I'm caring less about my storage. I even read that having SD slots is too complicated.

Can't believe folk are still moaning on about this. I'm not likely going to STORE a load of movies and games on it so 16 gigs is more than sufficient for my needs. Personally, the only time I'm likely to watch a movie on such a small device is when I'm on holiday and most of the games I see are childish rubbish. It's the way of the world; there will always be those who yearn for something which seems better than the possession they were previously happy with.

Not exactly true. I purchased my n7 16gb in USA On early September but I Am
not living in USA so I didn't get the 25$ credit

To be honest I'm a little peeved by the short timescale between the upgrade but I'm more than happy with what I bought.

Office Depot has been very nice when it came to exchanges of the Nexus 7. I had bought the 16gb version 2 weeks ago and found that just before the exchange policy went out it had dead pixels. They were willing to give me a full refund (usually, they only give store credit when the item has been opened) or allow me to exchange for the 32gb. They only had three in stock, so I was very excited!
