A noob question.

If I root my HOX and install vanilla ICS and then later I decide I want to go back to the stock phone...with sense...is that possible?

Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

Yes, there are ways to restore to stock/shipped ROM if you decide to root and install a Vanilla ICS ROM on the device. Be sure to keep an eye on the One X forums for all the instructions on how-to do so. Generally, it's done by making a Nandroid Backup of the current ROM before installing a custom Vanilla ICS ROM. Other ways include flashing the device with factory software, called RUU (ROM Utility Update) for HTC devices.

Before doing it you should understand how the process works and read through threads that provide for such info on the One X before attempting.

thanks. Yes, I have a lot of reading to do. I'm very new to the process.

I guess i'll stumble through it eventually. I just needed to make sure there was a way back. Coming from iOS, there's always DFU mode.
