If RAZR gets ICS, will it beat NEXUS?

So I got my Razr.. and it was returned quicker then my iphone4.. kinda sad ive paid 70 dollars in restock fees for phones ive owned/used for a total of about 4 hours.

As far as the Razr.. a few of the things I was scared of like bad screen were not an issue at all.. I thought the screen looked great!.. was better then my fascinates screen and I love my fascinates screen.

One other thing I noticed quickly about the Razr was the reception was amazing. I was full 6 bars from the second I turned the thing on till I turned it off.

Why did I return the Razr? because I'm extremely picky.. and I dont know if this has been mentioned or not.. but the bottom of the Razr clicks.. like when you hold it or press it in.. and it makes a click noise like a snapple bottle cap. And I noticed this through normal use.. and it just annoyed me.. I tried the one at the vzw store and it clicked even worse.. so at that point I knew the phone was getting returned.

One other small negative thing I noticed, which has already been mentioned.. is that the bezel is HUGE.

Its a nice phone though.. anyone who doesnt notice the clickyness of the construction im sure is enjoying the phone very much.

I guess I return to waiting for the Nexus.

It was going to be my first Moto phone in about 10 years.. and I'm not doubting Motorola because of it.. I will buy Motorola in the future but one thing I'll do differently is go to the store first and put the thing through a beating before I purchase.

All I hope for is that the Nexus has strong reception like the Razr and ill be extremely happy.

This is a nice thread, no wonder it's so long.

I tried the Razr in the store, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would but, it is a very nice phone. I was very tempted to get it before that. I remember having the Bionic and, the Razr reminded me a lot of it. I really liked the Bionic and, had a lot of accessories for it. The switching back and forth from 3G to 4G to no signal at all really bothered me. You had to toggle airplane mode, on & off to get it to work and, sometimes had to reboot entirely. I heard that these same issues existed in the Razr also so, that turned me off even more.

If it gets ICS and, the user has the opportunity to install it vanilla then that wil be a big plus. Not knowing for myself how well ICS runs, I don't know for sure how it would run with blur installed on top of it.

Any money that this will get ics before the razr does? Just another reason to not go with a manufacturer that pumps out a new phone on verizon every week?

Nothing will help the RAZR's camera quality, and thats one of the bigger determining factors for me in a phone. While the GNex doesnt seem to have a fantastic one either its def much better.

I agree, I just got a razr yesterday and I haven't been able to take one clear picture yet. Also, the thing is too damn thin. It feels so uncomfortable in your hand...I constantly feel like I'm going to drop it. The screen on the other hand is fantastic........it seems to be real fast too. But the camera is so bad I don't see how it is even usable. I would take a much thicker phone if it had better optics in it. I'm not too concerned though..........its just a rental until the GN comes in.

It turned me off for being so thin yet feeling so weird in hand. Saved me from having to spend the $35 dollars i was going to use for the rental fee. Hopefully more info leaks since my droid is on it's last legs.

The razr would feel really nice in that otterbox case

Actually, the thinness didn't bother me too much. It was how tall (5.15) and wide (2.7) the phone was. In both issues I could barely hold it in one hand. I am concerned (and I have previously thought that 4.0" was the largest screen I could use easily) that the GNex (5.33 tall) is also going to be too big. I might have to buy a mid range (single core) phone until next summer when the mid range phones will be dual core with LTE (2nd gen chip sets).

The RAZR is barely different in height from the X, so I don't find the RAZR awkward in that way. The RAZR is very wide, though. I think the width combined with the thinness makes the phone uncomfortable to hold.

I think for most it is the width that does it. It did not feel too long it just felt too wide.
