If you ordered after 7/11/12

What really bugs me is that Google doesn't have the product to ship, can't tell me an ETA, but I cannot cancel the order! This is what I expect from some chintzy outfit based in a non-industrialized country, not a billion-dollar leading Internet company.

I will just refuse the UPS package if and when it actually arrives.
 
Yeah because when I checked my account and they had removed the hold, I was going to cancel and reorder since there were others who were getting them in 2-3 days on orders placed days after mine.. Unfortunately they would not let me cancel.

Why does Google tell people on the phone that they cannot cancel their orders?

While it makes for boring reading, I saw no language that says a buyer cannot cancel an order in Google's Terms of Sale webpage. Interestingly, it is effective July 10. I wonder what the terms of sale were prior to that date? While it would be counterproductive, if it is true that Google is telling people they cannot cancel an order I wouldn't be surprised if it resulted in a class action lawsuit. While Google has made a lot people very happy, they've also frustrated and angered a lot of people, too. Telling people they cannot cancel orders does not seem particularly wise in that regard.
 
Just an update here.

Ordered late evening July 15th; temporary hold appeared on my credit card. Temporary hold has now vanished from my credit card - not sure if this is good or bad as the cc statement cycle closed Friday night, so I'm wondering if temp authorizations are "expired" by my credit card when the cycle closes. Maybe I'll call my cc and ask . . .

No update on GP - just shows that my order was sent to Google on the 15th.

Or it could mean that it gets delivered tomorrow, similar to BlueSauce's experience. Who knows??

UK here so my experience might be a little different from yours.

Ordered on Wednesday 18th of July, shipping confirmation the day after, and the tablet arrived via TNT courier at 10AM on Friday the 20th of July. I ordered the 8GB variant with no accessories.

When I ordered the page said 1-2 weeks but I was happy to wait seeing as brick & mortar shops around here were being very vague of stocks. One of the biggest tech stores, PC World, only had 5 coming in and they were already pre-ordered. A few hours before I received shipping confirmation I noticed that the time to deliver had gone from 1-2 weeks to 3-5 days.

I feel for anyone stuck with their Play Store order not being fulfilled. I can only guess at what the reasons could be, but I can imagine it's very frustrating.
 
Waited on hold with Google customer service for an hour yesterday. When I finally got a rep they proceeded to tell me that my order was lumped in with those ordered after the 13th and would be delivered in two to three weeks. I explained this was unacceptable because per the website it states they will honor the delivery timeframe given at time of purchase. I ordered the morning of the 14th while the 16gb model was listed as in stock and shipping in 2-3 days. I realize now that they may have made mistake in advertising that because it changed hours later to 3-5 weeks. The point was that I should have my order honored as advertised. She put me on hold for about 15 minutes. She came back with totally different attitude and apologized for the confusion but after checking she said there was a shipping error and that my package was at the ups facility waiting for a label and I should be seeing it by Tuesday. If this is the truth then I haven't lost all faith in Google. It could have just been b.s. (which is what I think) just to get me off the phone. If it shows up Tuesday I will update...

I ordered an RMA replacement this morning due to a hairline crack in the corner. Looked as if a qa person may have bumped it against something.

Strangely enough I had 2 quality stickers on my sealed box.

07/12 - 6:00PM EST - 16GB - No accessories - $$$ Held for 2 days and released - No email - No tracking information - My status on the Play site changed from the 12th to the 20th with no further information.
 
Just placed an order about an hour ago for an 8GB Nexus 7; credit card was immediately charged and shipping said 2-3 days (charged me for 2 day shipping automatically). Will wait and see now.

Noticed today that my order in Google play moved from the 14th to the 20th as well. Receipt shows 14th but Google play transaction list shows the 20th.... Wonder if It will show up today or tomorrow?

The date on my Google Wallet still says the 12th and hasn't changed since I ordered. Does it have to change for it to be processed?

Still no shipping email or anything.

I ordered a 16g on July 5th. On July 18th they emailed and said my order was cancelled because they do not ship to P O Boxes. Had I known this earlier I could have provided a physical address. I immediately re-ordered on the 18th and today CS said it would be 3 to 4 weeks before delivery.
 
BLA.. This is seriously getting annoying.. I'd love to call customer service but my sprint service goes in and out of roaming (at HOME) so I'd drop the call ... If I at least knew some of you were getting it who ordered withing my order time frame I'd at least be happy knowing it was soon..
Google is seriously failing,.
 
Going to call back tonight and see if I can get any clarification on why the date was changed in my Google play transaction log but not in Google wallet....

I ordered a 16gb N7 on the 13th. There hasn't been any changes on wallet or gp. I have received no email or anything so I called earlier and was told that my order should process today or tomorrow and that it will be shipped to me overnight.
