If you're getting the 6P -- Why (or why not)?

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Same for everyone.

That's why I'm not parting with my money yet

Some dates are later than others. I think they'll end up being earlier than we think. Mine is the end of October.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

I ordered mine, the 128 aluminum 6P. I wasn't sure about the phone, from the leakes I saw, but it turned out to be much better than I thought. The hump on the back is not nearly as pronounced, and it's not wider than the Nexus 6, like some publications predicted. As a Nexus fan, this phone trumps my Note 5. The only thing missing is wireless charging. I never cared that much about camera performance as others, but I hope it lives up to what they talked about, and everyone is satisfied & happy with it.

"Other features for the Smartphone photography enthusiast include laser autofocus, LED flash, stabilization, face detection, HDR+, GEO tagging, and a built-in picture editor."

I thought the 6P doesn't have stabilization? If it doesn't, how can you trust this?

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Maybe when prices come down to earth for the 128 GB version, providing I can ever get Titanium backup to save to the cloud properly. $681 delivered for the 128 GB is still too much for me, even wiht with the $50 playstore credit. No mention of wireless charging either. My G4 can have up to a 2TB micro sd and has wireless charging with an $8 sticker from Amazon that works great.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

Well, the 6P gets MKBHD's seal of approval, pending camera and battery...

@MKBHD: After playing with Nexus 6P for 15 minutes: Hell yes. Hell to the yes. If this phone's camera and battery measure up, I want this phone.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

I'll look into the 6P if Project Fi institutes an upgrade program. Otherwise, I can't afford to right now.

Since the ship date is so far away, I decided to wait for the turbo 2. See whats up with that phone. I hope the battery is huge like last year. I need to be on vz, they are the only carrier that works at my house.

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

I would love to get the 128 GB one to replace Nexus 6 64 GB but I am still undecided

Meh. I just hate being tied to Verizon's update schedule. But we'll see if either Nexus lives up to the spec sheets.

I went with the 6P because of the more premium build. I bought a OnePlus 2 and it took about 5 seconds of it in my hand for me to realize I want a phablet for my next phone. And I will probably never leave the Nexus line.

Moto nexus is getting 6.0 update next week?

It sounds like a lot of devices should be updated shortly and I would imaging Google will post factory images soon.

Android Marshmallow Will Begin Rolling Out To The Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9, And Player On October 5th, Along With AOSP

I want to get this phone, but I want to wait for some more videos and hands-on reviews.

I am concerned about the 810 processor, the radios/signal strength, and sound quality. I am not trying to be negative, but Huawei is an unknown quantity for me.

When I was considering (and ultimately purchased) the Motorola Nexus 6, I had real-world experience with a Moto X 2013. Even though there are differences, I felt like I knew what I was getting---similar Moto radios/hardware/software with a larger screen.

It was also the first Nexus to be unlocked and support all 4 carriers and that was big. I didn't know it would set a precedent for future phones, like the Pure, 5X, and 6P.

I hope this phone sells very well and am hopeful that more phones will continue to be available unlocked and with support for all carriers, but I'm just going to wait for more reviews to come in.

Hopefully, someone will do a side by side comparison with the Nexus 6 and I'll have all the information I need.

Maybe it too will be available on Amazon for $350-$400 this time next year.

I am on same page with ya. I want to wait till February see if the 6P has issues that I can't live with and I can't afford $600+ for 64gb right now. Got my eye on a 55in 4k TV .. Wonder if Huawei does payment plan if u buy thru them like Motorola did for N6?

Re: Who's getting the 6p?

I am most likely getting the 6P probably the 32GB because that's enough for me and is still an upgrade over my 16GB Nexus 5. I would've leaned more towards the 5X but with only 2GB of ram, no notification led, and only one front facing speaker its not worth it as the 6P is not much more. I will wait until December for more reviews to come out and because that's when my Nexus 5 will be finally paid off. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to pay for the 6P from the Google Store unless they have some type of monthly thing where I can slowly pay it off like I did with my Nexus 5.

It does not have optical image stabalization, the type that is the most effective. It may post process the images to try to make them appear less blurry but once the shutter is closed there is not much that can be done.

I am not sure what this offers over the Note 4.

For me the Note 4 is very fast, stable, has a good camera, plenty of storage, OK to Good battery life, fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and a killer screen. I don't have issues with the Samsung software as some do.

What would the new 6P give me that I don't already have?
