But I think you are still missing my main point. Texting apps are communication tools and shouldn't be treated as normal proprietary apps, they should play nice with the other end no matter what brand they use.OK, as far as that goes, I exaggerated a tad, apps should play together, but proprietary apps aren't always gonna do that well. The phone ecosystems are where there's the biggest difference, and while there are folks that go both ways, the majority of their users don't cross the barrier often.
Imagine that the Samsung dialer added noise or echo when calling to any non-Samsung device. That couldn't be considered as the usual problem with proprietary apps and people would complain until no one uses that app to communicate with them.
