So I was ALMOST considering the iPhone 4S for only one feature: Siri. If you have used it, you know how amazing it really is. I just really like the idea of having a conversation with my device while telling it what to do for me.

Well, I have found a very cool app, called Speaktoit, which is just as good. It can carry on coversations, and it works throughout the entire system. The only downside is that it is slightly slower (byt about 1 or 2 seconds) than Siri is. But one second to me is not that big of deal.

With the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime/Droid Prime/Whatever, I am going to have it all!! Including a fantastic Voice Assistant.

Check it out, especially for those of you comparing the 4S to this amazing monster of a phone being announced on Tuesday.

Have you tried Vlingo? I don't use it myself, but I've heard from a lot of blogs that it's one of the best programs out. I looked it up on the market and it's free too (Maybe just for the download? Not sure..)

Yes, I have that one also. But that one is more of a voice command thing, not an actual voice assistant. This "speaktoit" can hold conversations with you and speak back! Works quite well!

I've used both Speaktoit and Vlingo, and they're both very good. It's actually nice to see a similar feature in iOS, as it will undoubtedly spur further advances in voice interaction in Android as well.

Thanks for the recommendation! I love Vlingo, use it all the time. I'll have to give this one a try! Thanks!

Don't get me wrong, Vlingo is great, but this takes it three steps further! You will enjoy it!

Good collection so far. Android has had some amazing voice recog apps, and Siri is just getting the public more involved and aware of what technology is out there. Voice recog apps for Android will start popping up more frequently, and I wouldn't be surprised if a very nice upgrade to Android voice recog came with the ICS update.

Apple would prolly sue Google if that happened..... lol

Its all about that arms race

Google's been in the voice recognition game longer than Apple (from what I know). So they could try but they would have no basis for the lawsuit.
