I'm not getting notifications for Friendly or Messenger Lite. Any solutions to this?

I only have enable messages checked on the Friendly app. I just now enabled notifications. I do get notifications inside the Friendly app but only for notifications not messages. Does anyone know how to fix this? I like Friendly because I can save pictures from FB and the dark theme. The things I asked about are the only things I don't like about the app and I can't upload multiple photos at once. I have to go and upload pictures one by one. I do have power saving mode on as well, I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.
