In call notifications on Nexus doesnt exist?

So its safe to assume there isnt any option for in-call notifications? Or am I missing something?

What do you mean?

If you're talking about receiving texts, you won't, because they run over the same network as voice. You'll still get emails and anything else that runs over LTE though.

That's not true lol. Texts in fact CAN be sent and received while on a call. Also, if you have 4g coverage, you can use Internet access while on a call. If you're on 3G, however, you can't talk and use the Internet at the same time

I can receive and send text with Handcent while on a call....just saying

I think OP is talking about getting a buzz/beep when the mail comes in (not whether the phone is capable of receiving the mail)

It absolutely is true. Verizon's support of simultaneous texting and calling is limited, and on a device-by-device basis. Most Verizon devices will not receive their texts until after the call is disconnected.

Regardless, if the OP is asking what dimsdale thinks he's asking, then no, there isn't. The only phone I know of that will still give you an audible notification alert while on a call is the iPhone.

I would like incoming calls to stop ringing and giving you the beep beep beep sound when they stop calling, even after you put them to voicemail.

Drives me nuts while on a call the other call doesn't silent/ mute.

The HTC Thunderbolt does as well. If Memory serves, every phone I have had up to the Nexus did.

That is patently false! I have the original Droid, Droid Incredible, Droid X, and a Galaxy Nexus and each can receive and send texts while on calls. The only phone in that group that's 4G is the Galaxy Nexus.

Nexus does it, what sucks is when on a call you can't use notification drop down. Just click the home or back button when on your call and you will stay on your call and you can still do what you want with your phone (text, surf web, etc)

I receive texts messages during a call all the time, but I never hear a tone up to and including my Nexus. My Droid3 had this option for tones during a call.

This should be a stock feature lol

Yea, thats the only screen other the PIN lock that doesnt have an operable drop down menu.

Before I replied to begin with, I tested it out to make sure I wasn't wrong. Maybe you should do the same...

Back on topic... miss the text message beep during a call

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

Again back on topic. While on the phone today, I didn't get a ring/beep or anything when I was getting another called and I didn't realize it until I hung up with the person I was talking to, what's the deal with that? I use GoSMS and there is an option to get notifications and crap.

And before I replied I ensured it does, on my GNex, X, Incredible and Droid. Each can get and send texts while on a call in 3G and the GNex does it in both 3G and 4G. And as pointed out by other pozters, their VZW phones do also. Perhaps you have a faulty phone.

I do when I'm using my bluetooth. I'm not sure about the handset though. When I use my handsfree, I actually hear the ring tone is have assigned. Or maybe it's handcent.
