In Google Messenger, why do I have no space to type messages?

Google messenger no space to type message

Hi,
I started using google messenger and like it but my problem is that the place where i type my message is shrinked because there is a blank space next to my name. Now, if I type 2 or 3 words, it goes to the next line, making it hard to write a full sentence.

Does anyone else have the same issue? I tried asking help from Google but got none.

My device is a Samsung Note 3.

I would send a picture but don't know how :/

A screenshot would be helpful. Push the power button and the volume down button at the same time and it should snap a pic of your screen!

Oh, also, are you using Google Messages or Google Hangouts?

Finally, try rebooting your phone and see if that solves the problem!

Okay, sorry, I didn't see the picture before I posted last. yeah, give your device a good reboot and see if that solves things.
