Inactive screen/lock screen is totally black

I have gone through the lock screen settings and selected the clock I want and turned on notifications. However, when it goes to sleep (on charger or whatever) it is entirely blank. Is this normal? When I tap the screen I see the clock and notifications but it goes away pretty quickly, how can I adjust that time as well?

Hi, if you go into the phone settings and scroll to lock screen you can enable AOD to always show , I think by default it set at tap to show

Perfect, thank you! I can never tell if I need to click the option name as well as the toggle. I just tried it and it now shows a weird colorish kinda display instead of what I asked for (at least it's a move in the right direction lol)

Can also type things you want to search in phone settings search bar also , I'll try get some screenshot later to show you , yes they have sub menus to go through .
