Question Increase volume to headset

Hi all, I picked up a Logitech headset (H570) for better outgoing voice quality, and while it's great, I've also noticed the incoming volume is limited (nowhere near as loud as I can crank media volume), and there's nothing on my Samsung S24FE that seems to boost this. I've tried apps like XBooster and Precise Volume but they only affect media volume. I've heard that the app RE Equalizer might work, but I apparently I might have to root the system, and that feels a little hardcore (and there's no free trial to see if it works as-is). Can anyone confirm whether there is a software solution for this? Cheers!

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- are you also making sure the volume on the phone itself is cranked up to max (i.e., by using the phone's Volume buttons instead of the headset's)? This kind of behavior is possible on wired headsets, in my experience.

I can confirm that I have done this.

I know this is the obvious followup, but the headset's own volume is also cranked up?

Do you have any native EQ settings on the phone turned on? I recall that EQ can sometimes lower the overall volume, and turning any EQ settings off can sometimes give a boost.

I can confirm that the headset volume is maxed. As for EQ settings, I don't enable them generally. I've tried doing so recently but no significant difference.

Welcome to Android Central forums.

I've read that XBooster and Precise Volume are for media players more than calls or voice.

Speaking of different sound origins, did you look at all of your volume options when connected to the headphones? I ask because these are wired headphones and it's been forever since I've had a wired accessory but I'm wondering if the volume for voice/phone are separate from media. Plug in your headphones, touch the volume rocker, touch the 3 dots to expand the widget and look for one with a phone icon and turn that up, and test if your volume improves.

I tried looking up your headphones based on the information you provided but evidentially Logitech is lazy or unimaginative because there are 8 headphones seemingly with the same name. Some are stereo, some mono, some have rounded controllers and others rectangular. I just wanted to look and see how many low rated reviews talked about volume. I feel pretty strongly about the issue being a separate volume, but if that doesn't pan out I would just go back and look at some of the 1 and 2 star reviews for your unit's listing, just to be sure it isn't a thing with that model or something.

One last question, what dongle are you using to connect the headphones to your phone? I don't think the dongle would have much effect but since they don't plug directly to the phone it's another link in the chain to consider.
