I believe you but I called them the y asked their manager he said they are remaining the same price. I then said can you double check and they called the place that does their insurance and they said it will remain the same. Maybe someone else can call and see what they say?

That's what the * is for. As of 10/4 all the tier2 with stars become tier 3.

Either way even at tier 2 I think you're better off getting a third party like SquareTrade.

SquareTrade even has an app you can install, it will identify your phone and quote you a price for 2 years insurance. The main factor is whether you are inside 30 days. If you are, it is $99 for 2 years. Otherwise it is around $149. $99 for 2 years is $4.12 per month, $149 for 2 years is $6.21 per month. Their deductible is $50. And they cover liquid damage and spills. FWIW I saw Amazon offering warranty for $600-$700 electronics items for $99 for 3 years.

disclaimer I have not used this... just like what I read on it more than AT&T's insurance.

I think Ill wait until October. If I dont end up switching to a new Android before that time, that is ;)

I'm within 14 days of finding out (have had ZERO official notice from AT&T on bills/emails/mailings/calls) and thusly I fall under the materially adverse ETF free escape clause that AT&T has. I'll leave early with a phone that is worth more used than I bought it for and go to greener pastures just 3 months into a 2 year contract.

Greedy bastards.

well you could always get the insurance... "lose" your phone... get the replacement and pay the deductible now.... then cancel the insurance and keep the spare in a safe place and let that be your insurance.

Yeah you still pay the deductible but if you do it now not as much, and you wouldn't have monthly fees from here on out. If you're sticking with this phone, anyway.

(and for the record I have not done this, nor am I advocating this. That would be unethical. )

The price has gone up. Curious what folks ended up doing? Definitely not worth it for $6.99 + tax per month plus a $199 deductible. You can pretty much score used Infuse phones for under $300 now on eBay and Craigslist.

I have 3 Infuse phones, so it is definitely a rip off at $6.99 + tax x 3 phones per month + a $199 deductible if there is a claim.
