Initial Impressions Thread

As many are now set to receive their phones over the next several days, I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread just devoted to initial impressions - - particularly of the screen - - and any issues (or lack thereof) that you see with the screen or any other aspects of the phone.

Eagerly awaiting first hand feedback from those who are now going to be using the phone.

As I sadly, but eagerly, await my Thursday delivery. 😭😭😭
 
Though not an initial impression, per se, right out of the gate the S26U seems to be selling like hotcakes.


Just over a week after Galaxy S26 preorders opened, Samsung says it has received 1.35 million orders in South Korea, its home market (via Yonhap News). That's higher than any of Samsung's previous flagship phones. For comparison, the S25 series received 1.3 million preorders in the same timeframe in 2025.

Even better for Samsung, the Galaxy S26 Ultra proved the most popular model, accounting for about 70% of total preorders so far. This also marks the highest preorder share the company has ever seen for an Ultra model.

Though I don't imagine many here are going to need a manual for the S26U, if you do, here's a link to it...

Haha, indeed!

As folks start getting these little beasties in their hands I'm anxiously awaiting real-world feedback on these screen and text quality issues.
Hoping they're either minor or non-existent in day-to-day use, but we'll see.
