Got mine this morning from AT&T corporate store. No banding that I can see. Sound is good, but the amp doesn't seem near as powerful as my LG V10. I'm using Sennheiser HD650s rated at 300 ohms. I had to crank up the preamp setting on Power Amp to near max with the phone set at max volume. AT&T sent an update this afternoon that included September security patch. Rear cameras seem fine to me and I'm fussy. So no, this is not a perfect phone, but I plan to keep it.

I typically don't stare at grey screens at low brightness levels, for any length of time. So I'm glad the possible issue won't be an issue for me.
Most don't. However, it does have other implications (watching a movie on a dark area, trying to catch a good photo in similar conditions. If there are hotspots, it will distort the images.

Again, not saying it's a huge deal, but for $800 some expect better.

You can higher the volume even more in the balance setting of the Quad DAC by giving the left and the right channel more power.

this reminds of the lighbleed issued everybody mentioned on LG LCDs. Never notice any during normal circumstances.

Just got home and listening to music with some good earphones. Damn this HiFi DAC makes a difference, had got used to listening to sub par sound on other phones. V30 does it right, it's sad to see other phones moving away from prioritizing sound quality.

I picked up my V30 this morning from the AT&T corporate store. I too have the Sennheiser HD650s and using PowerAmp and just like with my V20 I could only push them to 60 on the scale of 75 before it was too loud. Not sure what is going on with yours.

From what I understand Poweramp is not setup to take advantage of the DAC in its fulness. In the Alpha that was out the dev had to specifically code for devices DAC's and there hasn't been an update in almost a year so I doubt it would take full advantage of it. This is mainly for to Poweramp not using the built in audio etc from Android.

Not good if true. I love Poweramp. Plus, it plays .wma files.
