Smartphone phone history: Blackberry Bold, Blackberry Torch, HTC Inspire 4G

The phone you are or have switched from: HTC Inspire is the phone I have now

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? It works, there are lots and lots of great thing about it that i can't list!

Any disappointments? Battery life

Where you're from: Terre Haute, IN. I was born and currently live here.

Your* profession: Retail worker :(

Smartphone phone history: iPhone 3G>Nexus One>Inspire

The phone you are or have switched from: I switched from the N1 to the Inspire

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? It reminds me of my N1 :) Also, Sense

Any disappointments? AT&T preloaded apps. However, as soon as I turned it on and figured out that it wouldn't allow sideloading I rooted it and now I am enjoying a wonderful bloat-free experience. I also dislike the battery cover, but HTC is giving out free replacements if you nick yours up.

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to sell my N1 but now I've gotten a few offers on it and I think I'm going to let it go. :'( It will be a sad day but the Inspire is and can be everything it was and more.

I purchased my Inspire the day it became available--February 14--and it just becomes better 'n' better.

Where you're from: central Arkansas

Your profession: college professor

Smartphone history: Nokia 3650, Nokia 6682, HTC Fuze, HTC Inspire 4G

The phone you have switched from: Fuze

Your favorite Inspire feature? its smooooth UI and 4.3" display

Any disappointments? only that the speakerphone is not adequately loud for my old ears but I text much more than I talk . . .

And anything else you can think of.
I love:
the fast HTC Sync for my Outlook Calendar (this was the real dealmaker for me)
the 7 homescreens
the (daily Outlook) calendar, (most recent) actual email, and quick notes widgets on my homescreens
the one-touch off 'n' on internet connection widget on my homescreen
the method of making groups for text messaging (once I became accustomed to it)

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Speed, Sense UI, Great support,SUPERPHONE(size), i dont know about you but my battery seems way too long compared to average users(last about 2.5 days)
Any disappointments? The only dissappoint i would have is that i would have liked it to have the 3rd gen snapdragon processor(support for netflix) and a minor preference... a little bigger screen

Smartphone phone history: Blackberry Curve 8900 > Blackberry Bold 9700 > HTC Inspire

The phone you are or have switched from: Blackberry Bold 9700

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? The display and the UI possibilities

Any disappointments? Still getting used to the size of the thing and I know this is petty, but it came with the shortest charging cable (USB cable) that I have ever had with a phone. Oh well, off to the store.

And anything else you can think of. Coming from years of Blackberry, the learning curve is pretty steep, but I am enjoying it.

Ah, why not. Enter at your own risk ;)

My wife and I live in Harrison, OH, but you knew that already as my profile kinda gives me away.

You're profession:
Custom Protection Officer. You feel safer already, don't you? ;)

Smartphone phone history:
If I stick with just smartphones, it would be: Palm Treo 680, Palm Treo 750, Samsung Blackjack, Nokia E71x, and HTC Inspire 4G.

The phone you are or have switched from:
Went from my Nokia E71x to my HTC Inspire 4G back in February. I always loved Palm, (never had much of a chance to tryout webOS due to being under contract with Cingular/AT&T, so WinMo it was), and had several Nokia phones running various forms of Symbian OS, but Android is my favorite. I've been a Linux guy since my RedHat days back in the late '90s, so it was a natural fit for me.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire?
I love it all: Build quality, screen size/resolution, 2nd-gen Snapdragon (Scorpion) CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, and the fact that the phone really begins to shine once you're rooted.

Any disappointments?
None. Absolutely none. :) I'm overclocked/undervolted and I get 15-20 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy use. I never have a problem charging my phone every night. What else is my phone going to do while I'm asleep? lol, let it charge up!

And anything else you can think of.
I'm a Navy Veteran, so I'm big into supporting our troops. You guys and girls are the real heroes and we need all of you to come home safe! I love gadgets: Taking stuff apart, putting stuff back together, tweaking settings, etc. That's why I went Android.

Well, welcome aboard! I'm a former Marine oif/oef and i love, seriously love, my corpsman. Still. To this day. anyways see you in the forums

Smartphone phone history:hmm if i can remember them all.. lol. blackberry pearl, G1, mytouch 3g, iphone 3g, iphone 3gs, HTC Inspire.
The phone you are or have switched from:The iPhone 3GS, it just broke one day, for no reason, i took it apart and found no signs of anything fried so i'm currently using it as a paperweight, used my upgrade for the Inspire. Bet $100 i've spent in a while, minus the battery.. lol.
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? the customization about the phone, love how you can change almost every aspect.
Any disappointments? barrty forsure.
And anything else you can think of. nothing else really. lol.

Where you're from: a small town in Western Kentucky

Your profession: stay-at-home mom

Smartphone phone history: Samsung Jack, Motorola Karma

The phone you are or have switched from: Samsung Jack (Windows Mobile is so sad)

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Everything! I've never had a touchscreen phone, so the whole experience is great for me. I don't have mine rooted (a little too advanced for me, and I really only use it to entertain myself and my kids), but I find that pretty much everything runs at acceptable speeds for me.

Any disappointments? Battery life, as many have said before. Just playing games with no mobile internet or wifi connectivity seems to sap it pretty quickly. However, being at home means I have the ability to charge my phone as needed.

Where you're from: Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.

You're profession: IT jack of all trades (sort of a sys admin for several server farms used by the air travel industry).

Smartphone phone history: Previous phones were all dumb.

The phone you are or have switched from: Motorola KRZR K1M.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? The screen.

Any disappointments? Battery life and external speaker.

And anything else you can think of. It took me a long time to be willing to pay the expense of a data plan, especially since I'm around computers all the time and have Internet access from work and home. Now that I've got the phone, I can't imagine going back to, "just a phone." I'm also someone who likes to tinker with stuff when I can, and the Android system is wonderful for that.

What's your favorit e feature about the Inspire? Screen size mainly and cost. But this phone has everything I want without having to spend the extra money to also get things I'll never use. (iPhone)
Any disappointments? Same = the battery, but I've gotten that worked out

Although I've always loved my iPhones, I've always really disliked Apple's policies. The cat and mouse game of jailbreaking only to get the simple things (like a useful notification bar.) I've never said the iPhones were any better than Androids, or vice versa. I still won't. It's just personal preference. The inspire just caught my eye one day while I was getting a new sim for my son's phone. It made me want to investigate a little further into the android world. Two weeks later I made the switch and, for my needs, I'm glad I did.

The phone you are or have switched from: iPhone 4
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Screen Size.

Got iPhone 3GS two years ago. At that time, Blackberry Storm was just about the only other thing that came remotely close to ipHone 3GS, but for someone who does not need Blackberry's strength in corporation email calendar security blablah, iPhone 3GS was so far advanced that nothing could touch it. First generation android phones were garbage as well. iPhone 3GS was still vastly superior to all those first androids. So I never paid any attention to android world.

Then last month when I got an offer to upgrade to iPhone 4, I went to the ATT store. I signed up for iPhone 4 and as I was walking out of the store, I just happened to stop by HTC inspire.... And whoa. the world has changed.

Androids were MUCH, MUCH better than how I remembered a year ago. They are not just another "iPhone wanna-be's". They totally caught up to iPhone.

So I ditched iPHone 4 and went with HTC Inspire.

I'm hoping I made a good decision.

Smartphone phone history: I was with sprint for years and now that I will be working for AT&T I get some perks and so I'm switching from sprint to AT&T. I don't have my inspire yet but should get here if not later today then tomorow.
The phone you are or have switched from: Samsung Epic 4g
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Well from the display models I have checked out I would say the 4.3 inch display and the quality and feel of the phone. Now the slcd screen does not look as good as samoled but it still looks great.
Any disappointments? Well I have not received my phone in the mail yet but from what I have been reading about the inspire I would say the battery life is not good. I used to have the palm pre and I think it had pretty close to the same size battery and it sucked on the pre so I can just imagine that it will be pretty bad on the inspire but I can live with that.

Let me introduce myself

Ok I've been lurking on here for a while and have finally decided to introduce myself.

Where you're from: Baltimore, MD
You're profession: Paralegal
Smartphone phone history: None, Inspire is my 1st
The phone you are or have switched from: Samsung Impression
What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? So far pretty much everything, everything is at my finger tips which is great!
Any disappointments? Little disappointed in the camera but thats not a big deal (I have my actually camera for quality pictures) and the more I play with it the better my pictures are turning out. Of course the battery could be better but I'm managing with that.

These forums have been super helpful for a Android newbie!

Where you're from: I live in Naples Florida, but grew up in Minnesota.

You're profession: self employed auto appearance specialist.

Smartphone phone history: never had an actual smart phone, wife has had an iPhone 3g(s) for a few years so I have spent a very small amount if time playing with it.

The phone you are or have switched from: switched from a Samsung impression which was a messaging phone with internet capabilities.

What's your favorite feature about the Inspire? Hmm..I love so many things about the phone so its hard to say which one particular thing is my favorite. Probably the screen size and responsiveness is one of my favorite things, I also love how "smart" the phone is, sometimes it knows more about what I'm doing than I myself do lol.

Any disappointments? Phone signal isn't the best, I thought wife iPhone was bad but she has more bars then me all the time. Also "4g" speeds are disappointing but that isn't the phones fault, its the service provider.
